May 21May 21 The Chairman of the Board has been a beast since getting called up. Me and Ray Ray have long been on the Antonacci train. I'm glad he's playing so well. Let's look at some of his stats. wRC+ - 128xwOBA - .399OBP - .381They've thrown him into a position his never normally played (outfield). Would be nice if he could play his natural position, but I'm not sure if that will happen. All hail Antonacci!
May 21May 21 I thought appreciation threads came after a player departs. Like we need a Lenny Sosa appreciation thread.
May 21May 21 Nice job, Antonacci. You have many years ahead of you until retirement, unlike Ron’s horrible nickname for you that should have been retired by now.
May 21May 21 I love how many different nicknames he has. I prefer to call him the second half of his last name "Notchie" with an exaggerated Chicago accent
May 21May 21 i never would've thought that Antonacci would end up being a better version of Meidroth, all while playing a new position that he had very little prior experiencewas Meidroth a higher ranked prospect by all the major sites than antonacci? after he was drafted and during his minor career

His hatred fuels my fanhood more.

I already told them that Soxtalk came up with the nickname for Sam, and to run it by him and see what he thinks. I'll wait until the poster reports back. Until then, the nickname stays.

May 22May 22 I give credit to Ron for being one of the first to promote Sam before we all realized that he is a very good player. Ron is the Chairman of this Board.

You also wanted B. Montgomery up to the big league team and he was promoted to AAA the same day you made the post, but I think you might get your wish before the season is over.

Means a lot. Sorry if I was rude in the past. You are right though. Ray Ray hopped on the bandwagon after I did. Edited May 22May 22 by ron883

Theres no need! What you have done, is to apply a thread practice used when players leave, to a player still on the team for some odd reason. Or perhaps this was lowkey a nickname appreciation thread? And in that case if it’s going away, that would be great. Not appreciation thread threadworthy though. We never had an appreciation thread for a nickname. But if this one is going away, most people will appreciate that this thread had to happen as the price we all paid.

FINALLY we have a high OBP leadoff hitter that we've yearned for for years. This guy is a rookie and is already putting up an OBP of .380. He's going to be with us for A WHILE. He's a vital piece that I don't think everybody truly appreciated enough. Is it such a crime to compliment a player? Would you rather I make a thread where I call Acuna dogshit? May 22May 22 The 2024 draft might turn out to be a good one if Hagen Smith and Bonemer eventually find success in the majors along with SA. I like seeing later round picks succeed. Antonacci was 5th round. Davis Martin was 14th round (2018). More successes like these can sure give the franchise some much-needed depth.
