Nice effort today.

Now let's see if the Sox can finally get to three games over .500 Friday.

With the schedule getting measurably tougher the Sox need as many wins as they can get in the next seven games.

Tigers stink. We need to at least take 2/3. Too bad Fedde starts us off.

Tigers just put Jansen on the IL. He's been awful but they are super thin pitching wise right now.

Sweet, a client just found out I was a Sox fan and gave me two Teel rookie cards, it's all coming up Sox!

  • Team played great this series. Could have easily been a sweep if we didn't get so unlucky in the 10th on Tuesday.

To say nothing of the Phillies and Yankees on the road.

June might be the month that makes or breaks us.

According to Fangraphs, the Sox have had the 2nd hardest strength of schedule heading into today and the easiest remaining schedule in the AL.

Or am I misreading it, somebody can correct me.

Yea well the beginning to middle of June is probably going to reframe that strength of schedule for the Sox lol.

Lately it's been April so we'll take it.

For so long I would sit down to watch the game with a feeling of doom hanging over me. Now I kinda expect them to win. So refreshing. I forgot how good it feels.

Have I started to believe? Maybe. For the first time on this date in May since 2021 they do not have a negative run differential. A very good sign of doing things right on both sides of the ball.

I remember a stretch in 2000 when it was back-to-back on the road agains the Indians and Yankees to really test if that team was for real.

Without looking it up, I think there was another set of home series against those two teams right after that for either a 12 or 14 game stretch.

This reminds me of that stretch from 2000

I’m struggling with how to handle competent baseball from the White Sox.

I’m predicting Fedde doesn’t pitch like Fedde tomorrow. Let a guy dream.

Day game wins are great! Who knew? I'm buzzing hard and haven't even started drinking yet

White Sox Run differential = 0

So basically everybody that was saying this wasn't a real .500 type team just got exposed.

To paraphrase John Denver:

🎼 Friends up in the bleachers 🎵

And everybody's high. 🎵

White Sox high, Chicago🎵

June has a tough stretch with Phillies, Atlanta, Dodgers and Yankees. After that it gets easier.

Sox are really going to have to shove against those top teams to approach the same kind of record in June as they did in April and May.

They have to continue the exemplary play against the Central. And we need the injury luck to turn around.

Plenty of people waiting to pounce on any prolonged bad stretch of games like they rather be right than have the Sox win. That's why I give the haters crap. I rather be right when the Sox play well so I stay positive . The haters rather be right when they play poorly . That's kind of fucked up from supposed Sox fans . Always acting like they've been traumatized .

I thought they'd be slightly under, but that was with Baldwin and Teel in the lineup. Tristan Peters, Antonacci and Romo have been revelations.

Well, in a couple of weeks the Sox play @Philly, Braves, Dodgers, @Yankees. So after that set, it must be real easy.

Grichuk's playing so well that he definitely should stay even when Hays comes back.

If he should come back at all. He and Grichuk are similar.
I know they'll bring him up and probably send down Nishida. But then someone will have to go for Pereira, who is promising and controllable.

It'll be Acuna first

After years of misery, us Sox fans are finally enjoying good baseball on the southside. We should sweep Detroit this weekend with how banged up they are and with how bad they are playing. But 2 out of 3 would be good too. I’m really excited for the gauntlet in June against Philadelphia, Atlanta, LAD, NYY and Cleveland. It’s going to give this team an opportunity to show the rest of the baseball world what they are capable of. Really show they’ve turned the corner and are no longer the laughing stock. I mean it could also show how far they still have to go. But I’m opting to believe in the former, it’s much more fun.

And damn, we’re doing all this without Kyle Teel. What a time to be alive.

Hope not.
He's of more use than the Hayes/Grichuk duplicate.

Grichuk has .5 fWAR and played a competent RF today. He's going nowhere, well earned his spot for now. Hayes, eh, we'll see if he ever gets healthy. Acuna has negative WAR, he's not really a backup CF defensively and I believe has an option year, send him down when Gonzo and/or Montgomery come up.

as does Austin Hayes. And yea, Acuna has a .408 OPS so he's going to have a negative WAR. But he can play up the middle competently (and I know he's got a small neg war on D too this year). Hayes and Grichuk are the same player. I think they need him this year more than the lesser of Grichuk and Hayes. If he has options, they can just call him back when needed..

I remember that. I’m pretty sure we won one of the games (or maybe even two) by getting out of a bases loaded jam in the 9th. Possibly a game ending double play. Keith Foulke is popping into my head.

I don't think he meant in preseason predictions.Hell, unless you're blindly optimistic predicting .500 felt next to impossible .

But once they started April well and then kept it going people were encouraged that with Murakami and the whole vibe of them being extremely likable, they started making fans smile again. Plus we all know not just chicks dig the long ball.

But some refused to smile and feel good because they were too hurt to invest again for fear of the same owner ripping their hearts out again. It makes me cry every time I think about it. 🤣 Poor babies.

It's not as if I'm oblivious that losing Murakami is very possible to derail things right when it could get really interesting when once Braden and Teel get in the lineup and we see how some of the young arms do and our 1-1 pick and what other things Getz comes up with .

But things are stil wonky because it's Jerry. Eventually you can't keep winning looking tunder the couch cushions for change. So I live in the present. I'm not constantly looking ahead and expecting the worst.

I do sometimes imagine Justin Ishbia keeping Getz as GM and all the wailing and gnashing of teeth that causes and I laugh.

I legitimately hope you can find some solace in life outside of baseball and the White Sox. It is fairly obvious that you get as much of your jollies out of trolling any White Sox fan that wasn’t the true White Knight of the White Sox that you are, so no one else but you deserves to enjoy the current team as you do. TRUE BELIEVER!!!

Once again, do you not realize how pathetic you look and sound? If your life is defined by how good the Sox are, you have nothing. The Sox players don’t give two shits about you. But you feel the need to White Knight them like they are your children.

Speaking of children, do you have any? I have two boys. One of them won the IHSA state championship in class 7A. That is a real and tangible accomplishment to enjoy. Not what Jerry is going to earn off of you for watching his team.

The MLB is about entertainment, so I hope you are getting what your ego needs. But it’s obvious that that isn’t enough since your feel the need to attack posters that don’t agree with you.

I remember that road trip well, that 2000 squad might have been the best hitting White Sox team ever.
