Still confused why they let Sandlin anywhere near the 5th inning after a bad, 25 pitch 4th. Had it set up for a lefty reliever there. Really bad job by Venable tonight.

Save the pen lose the game.

For sure, can't blame the offense for this one. That was a winnable game but whatever move on.

Sucks that Venable decided to send Sandlin out there when everyone else could tell he was finished. That was the difference today

Totally agree! This loss is on Venable.

Does anybody else find the From The 108 content a bit cringey? How many "drafts" or discussions can you have about porn/pornstars?

Can't win em all. Davis has been a good stopper let's tie it up tomorrow.

Welcome back to reality Mr. Sandlin.

Guy is going to be a stud. He just needs to take his lumps in the majors. Also, Venable didn't do him any favors by leaving him in longer than he's used to.

Yeah, but at some point you need to stretch him out, too. You can’t keep a guy in the rotation capped at 65 pitches or whatever it was at. Ideally he could have done that in the minors, but he didn’t.

Agreed but with respect let's wait for at least a few more starts before categorizing him as a "stud."

I blame this game on the scheduler. What's with this business of scheduling 2 teams against each other with only 3 games in between?
Lazy scheduling.

Not even the first time, same thing happened with the Angels. And the two Mariners series were like a week apart.

Meanwhile we still haven't played one of our division teams at all.

We made 3 trips to the west coast before playing a single game against Minny, Detroit or Cleveland.

He really is. They need to extend him

Pretty sure they tried. He was having none of it.

Beef loaf seems like a real nice guy. I really can't take the way he has to laugh at the end of each sentence.

I think Gonzalez and Sandlin would both like to forget their 2nd major league start.

Pair of fours for Sandy and a Golden Sombrero for Gonzo. Sandelin should get one more start, but he will probably be on a shorter leash. Gonzo needs to hit a few bombs.
