My main concern with Romo batting was that he was a threat to GIDP and kill the rally right before our best average hitter. So in that sense, I didn't mind the bunt as a way to avoid that outcome since it gave you a chance to get the run in. That said, it seems like the baserunner wasn't prepared for it at all and the bunt wasn't quite good enough (although good defense beats the safety squeeze much of the time). We even got the hit from Antonacci that I was hoping for but...no dice.

Than hit and run. Literally anything other than telegraph a non suicide with a 15th percentile sprint guy at 3rd. That was brain dead man. Like I love will, but WTF??????????????????????????????

In a game where you couldn't make any managerial mistakes, Will has produced a cornucopia of follies.

Ok Jason.

100%…you can’t telegraph a suicide squeeze like that. Honestly, I were MLB I’d look into Venable purposely throwing this game for gambling purposes…it’s literally that dumb of a decision to bunt there.

suicide? that was a safety squeeze bro. he scores on a suicide if he waits to run on the 2-0 bunt, the safety is why he was out by so much

Well you have the fielders more of a heads up showing it for 2 pitches before it happened

playing for tie at home against a better bullpen?

Venable managing like his bp isn't going to give up any more runs. Ok.

MAC or The Valley not Ivy League

That's like when Jim Harbaugh would punt from the 48 yard line on 4th and 2 with Blake Corum in the backfield. I just want to throw my monitor into the wall.

Why was Grant Taylor warming?

That bunt is so maddening. I would love for him to explain it to me

At home too where the Sox come back often. It's like he wants to lose.

because our neophyte in the dugout manager has a strange idea of how leverage works.

if they put on the suicide from the jump, we don't know what happens because Romo pulled the bat back on 0-0 and 1-0, suicide scores on that 2-0 bunt though

so Costas could talk about his All Star candidacy tie in with 1933/83

Micromanaging and forcing small ball. Did he forget that his team actually learned how to hit since last year? He’s still managing as if he has a 30th ranked offense. WTF?!?

I just don’t get it. I hated the Acuna squeeze, but this Romo one was way worse.

This broadcast and the bunting combined is making me want to go find a cliff.

I think the safety squeeze is one of the dumbest plays in baseball at MLB level. I'm a fan of the suicide late innings but safety early innings is dogshit. Makes zero fucking sense, ever.

Do you not remember La Russa’s intentional walk decisions?

I have blacked out the LaRussa era from my memory unfortunately

Please get a fucking double play here.

Cleveland lost, would be a good time to steal a game

Nice job by Davis completing the DP

INCREDIBLY athletic play by Davis. Kept us in it.

LET’S GET SOME…bunts.
