Articulate why not. There is no path for him unless he moves to the OF.

Beni's contract is up after next year and the situation with Murakami is unclear long term. He can fit at 1B/DH or possibly even at 2B long term if they move Meidroth for cost controlled pitching at some point.

We have no excuse not to buy a top-end SP in free agency this offseason. As such, I’d rather keep Bonemer and go with a cheaper SP at the deadline. I truly believe we should not be doing “all-in” trad

I'm pretty disinterested in Detmers for what his cost is likely to be. One season of 100+ IP with < 4 ERA in his career, so the upside is limited. And for folks who are worried about Martin's recen

No Bonemer trade

We would be getting the best closer in baseball and San Diego’s best starting pitcher. With Miller, you could also convert him into the rotation for the next three years.

Imagine our bullpen with a resurgent Hicks and Taylor able to move into a setup role. Hicks / Newcomb / Taylor / Miller is a beast.

The rotation starts to take shape with Burke / King / Martin as a respectful top three.

We still have more resources for upcoming years where Bonemer being sent out we’d be covered still.

A rare occasion for us to agree.

He will move, 100%. That is unless he is traded.

I'm dropping him in LF, moving Ant to 2B, trading Chase.

Moving Bonemer for a reliever at this point is idiotic.

Fixed. 😆

Look at the last Miller trade. We are talking Bonemer, Carlson, and more.

If you’re trading Bonemer plus, you need to also get either a King rental or Fermin/Campusano.

Bonemer is going to be a star…do not fucking trade him for anything.

You basically need to have Bonemer and Cholowsky in reserve to make up for the loss of Mune.

Unless the new CBA mandates a $120-135 million salary floor and they pretty much have no choice but to invest the long term money into him.

I'm willing to give them Thorpe, Iriarte and Zavala.

Padres get Thorpe and Taylor

Sox get Miller and have to keep Romo all season.

Who says “no?” 😁

Lost me at Romo.

I'm no fan of Jerry Reinsdorf by any means, but do you seriously think that they'd only have a $120M payroll if the CBA forces them to do so? In this decade alone, they've already gone over that amount 4 times. Ishbia is paying down the team's debt and team revenue is going to increase with the boost in attendance they're experiencing.

That doesn't mean I think it's a sure think that they'll keep Mune beyond next season, but let's not make it sound like his departure is basically a done deal.
