So for someone who started watching in the 6th…what happened to Teel? Non contact meaning tear or any chance this is more a few week injury?

Kind of like the NHL's goalie rule.

Yeah I think they were trying to take some very explicit inspiration from that. Trying to make sure nobody gets hurt, nobody games the rules, and the game doesn't turn into a trainwreck all at the same time.

Worst case a torn Achilles. It looked like it, but they're saying it's an "ankle injury" for now.

Best case is moderate ankle sprain I think. He caught a throw at the plate, reached back to tag the runner, and his foot kind of stuck under him. Didn't look horrible but he never put weight on it after that and the trainer was clearly examining the achilles area.

Yeah, he didn't just twist his ankle if Quero is already getting on a plane.

Antonacci would have tried to drop that to get a double play.

They'd need another catcher even if it's a 1-2 week thing, it's not a position you can wait out a series or two with.

Romo since May 4th, or in other words excluding his first 5 games of the season: .112 AVG, .170 OBP, .214 SLG

Since May 20th: .091/.141/.167 (72 plate appearances)

Since May 31st: .061/.113/.082 (54 plate appearances)

Since June 14th: .036/.100/.036 (30 plate appearances)

Pitchers, the last season that pitchers batted: .108/.147/.137

The ghost of Moldy.

Just a day to day bruise for Colson

Can't they tell if it's a torn Achilles right away basically? Would they be saying it's just an "ankle injury" if they knows its an achilles year?

That was too much stress. Taylor has the bottom 4 in the line up

If it's a complete tear it's really obvious from the manual examination. I'm not sure about partial tears. But they never announce anything until they get a picture of it

I've got a bad feeling about it

Doesn't have to be a complete tear.

Right shin contusion for Colson. He’s day-to-day.

That's a really bad bunt, but it worked if they were just trying to sacrifice.

True. I'm reading that even with a partial tear, surgery is typically needed if 50% or more of the tendon is torn.

Ah yes, I bet Will forgot that Acuna is hitting cleanup.

venable getting out managed again

FWIW, complete vs partial would be relevant for recovery. If it's a complete tear there would be a legitimate concern that he would never catch again, at least not at a high enough level. At best would probably extend his recovery past next season.

Slammin' Sammy Antonacci is a beast

Helen Hunt at the game behind home plate.

I'm reading it may still need surgery if 50%+ is torn.
