I’ll root for the Cubs if they are playing the Indians, twins, or tigers and it matters for those teams losing. Otherwise, f*** the cubbies too.

Cubs pitching staff is cursed this year. They DFA'd Pomeranz this morning and might be hoping he hasn't packed yet.

I didn't realize how bad Jansen has been this year. Pretty much every non-Diaz free agent reliever this past off-season has been bad. Fairbanks, Jansen, Devin Williams, Helsley, and Dominguez have all been differing levels of bad. Only Luke Weaver and Robert Suarez have been good.

109 off the heel, yikes.

That contract is looking bad a lot sooner than people expected

His 2nd half struggles last year should have been a warning that he wouldn't be the player he was. Fenway briefly revived his bat, but then he struggled even with the green monster in left. Now he's coming out of his prime looking like a league average hitter with a decent glove at 3rd.

Cubs are absolutely imploding. Thanks for nothing.

Yeah I don't think the Cubs are coming through here

I'm assuming they got him for his playoff experience but we'll see. Looks like an awful signing.

Sox have surpassed the Twins in Runs Per Game after tonight

Sox RS: 479 (99g) RPG: 4.84

Twins RS: 483 (101g), RPG: 4.78

They already had a non-manfredman at 2b in the 9th....maybe they learned from that but I doubt it.

This is a choke job of epic proportions.

I know I'm a booster for Jerry Reinsdorf's frugality, but for everybody who yells we should sign every 30 year old free agent for all the money they ever wanted, there's probably another way that builds from within, and picks out the 3 year contracts to fill the gaps in that roster.

I can't root for the Cubs. Screw em

The Cubs kind of cheaped out. But maybe cheaping out actually saved them from giving Tucker a bunch of money. He's been worse than Bregman this year. At least Tucker is under 30 and has a good chance of bouncing back. Hard to see that coming from Bregman.

How are the Cubs so many games over .500 with their pitching?

You can't tell with how they've played this inning, but they have the best defense in baseball.

Wow long game thread. I'll now go and read most of it including I assume early panic 🤣

That's been the story of the season. Smoke and minnows.

I predicted that the Sox would struggle early against DeGrom but would put a crooked number up against him in the 5th or 6th.

It just so happened that they put up a crooked number against him in the 5th and never looked back.

hi8is strikes again!

I really could use those powerball numbers when you get a chance

1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 32. 😆

First time the powerball history has numbers 1 through 5 pulled in order! 😆😆

Cubs blew it, oh well, I'll allow it.

Have to go trade for a catcher now. Can we go back and draft Lackey?

I think that was a joke but can't tell. Were you a Lackey lackey ?

I wouldn't care if they sent Romo down and brought up Turner and Lee but it will likely be Quero. They wouldn't add Turner to occupy a 40 man spot anyway. It's already crowded even after the 2 spots traded away.

If it was something simple like that - I would think he would need as much help as he needed to walk off the field.

You must not have ever had a serious ankle sprain. They say you're better off breaking the bone. Not sure that is still true. Told me that many many years ago.
