Definitely don’t do any research and instead suggest panic trading your only two good SPs who happen to be controllable. And even worse, we have an entire positional core in place and you want to waste that by nuking our pitching staff. Make it make sense people.

I wouldn't trade for any rentals unless it's an incredibly low cost. Completely fine with them landing a big fish with two or more years of control, just don't want to see Caleb traded.

The trades will likely be in the works or done before the Yankees and Rays series is complete. For people who still aren't believers, we are the only team in baseball to avoid a four game losing streak. That suggests longevity.

People continue ignoring this and simply overreact to streaks. The offense is going through a power outage, once that changes so will the optimism around this team. Personally, I have been very happy with the pitching as of late. The bullpen is really coming together and Martin looks like a solid #3 SP even if his ace like run in the 1H was unstainable. This team is legit and is a few moves away from being serious contenders. We need to buy buy buy.

I wonder if Getz could work a trade for Hunter Goodman from the Rockies. That would be a game changer.

An identical thread was posted 2 weeks ago after getting swept by the Red Sox. (on their way to a historic 15 game winning streak)

Since then the Sox are 7-4 (.636).
4-4 since the break, despite a serious slump in power from a team that was hovering near the top of the league in HR's. As was pointed out, the Sox are the only team yet to lose more than 3 in a row. People need to stop getting their panties in a bunch for 2 or 3 L's.

Obviously if the right deal is on the table to improve the team now and in the future with a controllable player Getz should do that.

But for the most part I don’t want him being aggressive with dealing any of our top prospects. We’re only like 75% done this rebuild, don’t rush it just because some are getting overexcited with our unexpected early success. I think this team is 3/4 key players away from being true WS contenders.

Just stabilize the pitching staff enough to give the kids a legit shot to get experience in the playoffs would be the route I’d go. A rental SP and RP without giving up any top prospects.

Finally SoxTalk's chi is back to an equilibrium. It was unbalanced with the loss of that extreme pessimism. I tried my best to make up for it, but I'm only one man.

FWIW, I don't think any team should buy at all costs. Even the dodgers have their limits.

The bottom line is they should be buying something, or it will show the players the front office doesn't believe in them. But trading their best prospects at this point would be shortsighted. A year from now, that could be very different.

After Teel's third injury, I am thinking that the Sox brass may have moved on from considering him as the starting catcher for the next few seasons. IF that is the case, then a trade for Hunter Goodman, for example might make sense. Then Goodman become the starting catcher with Teel as back-up. It is what it is. Teel's legs have not held up and that cannot be ignored.
