Dustin May looks to have just been traded. WSox were in on him before the season.

Sox need to "Pull a Cleveland" as the kids these days call it. Win the final 2 games and salvage a series split.

Have to say, typing out “schlittler” makes you question “is this word spelled right?” For a while

35% K rate this season for Kolson, and oddly.....he's worse vR than he is vL.

4-0 Guardians now

won't get any help there

Can the Sox please hire whoever the Yankees have scouting pitchers!

Joe Ryan has been throwing 92 mph all night. He’s definitely injured.

for?

won't be a significant return, more of a salary dump

StL fading fast

It's good that Martin didn't totally kill the bullpen, but idk how you look that bad for the first 5 hitters and then give up nothing for the next 4.2 innings.

Only following on gamecast but it seems Davis righted himself! Maybe he figured something out.

Kinda hoping he’s batting 7th or so when the Sox are good

When the Sox become true contenders, there’s a good possibility Colson could be elsewhere.

Bah, forget it.

Pressure...?

Nice work on the game thread @Kyyle23 !

Sox need to start chipping away at this lead. Yeah it’s not ideal to immediately go down 4-0 but you’re not going to win many games if you only have one hit.

MLB Network’s Jon Morosi added some context today, writing that the Sox are “among the most active suitors” for rotation upgrades entering the deadline. It’s unclear if they’re looking for ace-level starters or simply doing due diligence on all the available options. Nonetheless, it seems that the team is serious about upgrading a rotation that’s currently tied for 16th in ERA (4.35) and ranks dead last in the Majors in innings pitched (461 2/3).

I don't hate the idea of selling high if somebody is willing to pay an arm and a leg. I like Colson a lot, but wouldn't be shocked if he regressed further.

But how to properly value him from both sides of a trade equation?

Sox don't have to trade him, but a number of flashing red warning signs.

And would anyone be shocked if he has durability issues down the road with his back

Just so bad at challenging

You think they were going to need them tonight?

We can't get a break.

For now I'll stick to my guns and say I'm not gonna worry too much about Colson yet. It's an archetype that's going to be painful to watch sometimes

He’s barely played a full season.

No, but the trend of being out of them halfway through the game is not good

So his value is just above 2008-2009 Crede?
