Are the Red Sox cheating?

Featured Replies

Unless they have figured out that literally all of our pitchers are tipping pitches, I've never seen so many pitches sat on correctly in my life. Every pitcher, seemingly every pitch. Breaking ball low, sit on 100 mph fastball the next pitch. The tying hit in the 9th was particularly egregious. I thought I was going crazy but there is a lot of commentary online about it at least, including from our own James Fox

No, the White Sox are just Meadiocre.

Their manager looks like someone who would cheat lol

My friend has been accusing the Brewers of this since last year (basically what Jimmy said). Common denominator: Caleb Durbin?

Fair. It would be totally unbelievable for a team like the Red Sox to cheat.

They're on a 31-5 stretch after looking like guaranteed sellers, literally a historic run.

Think he’s talking about more than the last 3 games.

Whatever they are doing and unfortunately because I hate anything Boston it has to be one of the most amazing turnarounds I’ve ever seen going from 14 games under .500 to 12 over in a relatively short time.

Apparently so is every other team the Red Sox have played for the last 36 games.

Are the White Sox cheating?!?! They were projected to win 64 games and they're on pace to win in the mid 80's with a plus plus offense!!

To me, it's more that the Sox pitching isn't great and it's gotten smacked around by good offensive teams.

Sox also have a stark home vs road split, and they're offense is 10 wRC+ points better at home than on the road. We wouldn't call them cheaters though, but teams who cheat tend to do so in their own ballpark.

The Red Sox have the opposite split, they've been a much better offense on the road than at home. I'm skeptical that some team has an elaborate road cheating scheme.
