They don't seem to have much between the "fuckin' dudes" tier, and projects, right now.Getz pretty much said this as well in a post trade deadline video. That they have top guys and lower level guys but not the in between prospects that were mostly traded at the deadline. Edited 8 hours ago8 hr by WhiteSox2023

2 hours ago2 hr Author Kinda strange since Quero has started hitting lately. Has it been confirmed whether or not Romo has options remaining? That may be the true decider on this move. But then again, even if Romo was out of options would any team claim him? Maybe a bad team since he’s still young and had prospect status…

At least if we knew for sure Romo’s option status, one could argue that maybe Getz is afraid that some garbage team would actually claim him if he is out of options, even as bad as he has been. Don’t think it’s been confirmed though. Edited 2 hours ago2 hr by WhiteSox2023

He was finally putting together good PAs, which Romo basically never does. Yes, his defense is atrocious, but Romo's isn't that much better.
2 hours ago2 hr I'm gonna be honest that I know nothing about Jake Rogers....what kind of improvement is he?

Either way, he can't be any worse than Quero or Romo on defense. He should also at least hit better than Romo. Honestly, it makes way more sense to have Rogers and Quero split the job than Romo and Rogers. But for some reason, Romo's irreplaceable.

I think Getz might want Rogers’ “veteran presence” over Quero/Romo. Has anyone trademarked “veteran presence” yet? Edited 39 minutes ago39 min by WhiteSox2023
34 minutes ago34 min If the point was/is to gain some offense out of the catcher position, nothing that Getz has done since the Teel ankle injury, including the Bart deal, makes a stitch of common sense. In order to "go for it" with this team, this year, he should have traded for a catcher (and a legit starter) before the deadline, even if it required including top prospects to get deals done. Can't keep kicking the can down the road.
