They really bungled the McDougal situation. Also, not getting a second SP at the deadline could prove costly. I know people here like Fedde, but he’s not a serious rotation option. Really need one o

  • Not that Martin was any good, but basically having 3 starters for the next month is grim.

  • How did they bungle McDougal? All the games have been close since he was called up. If you’re saying it’s how he showed bad command, I think we all knew it was possible/likely with him and Hagen.

Martin is going to solve a blister issue in Charlotte?

I wonder how that affects a potential suspension for Davis?

Congratulations Caulfield12 , I think your sarcasm is batting 1000

If they want to suspend him after stupidly ejecting him, I don’t know what to say. He doesn’t deserve any other punishment, he clearly didn’t mean to buzz Stewart like he did

Right or wrong, it sure seems to be a possibility.

He’s definitely getting at least 5 games

I guess it's better than having only two starters like in October 2020. Some things never change I guess.

Good. Put him on the 20 day IL (I know that's not a thing).

Give me a mixture of Urquidy/Thorpe/Shane Smith

They really bungled the McDougal situation.

Also, not getting a second SP at the deadline could prove costly. I know people here like Fedde, but he’s not a serious rotation option. Really need one of Urqudiy, Shane Smith, or Thorpe to step here in the coming weeks.

Offense is gonna be needed.

A lot of people here were saying the Sox needed two starters, Getz thought otherwise. Time will tell if that decision proves to be a mistake. Personally I think it will be.

Urquidy against a hot Tigers team is kind of a worst case scenario. Martin may just be cooked for the year. It’s looked so bad. Quero tipping pitches ain’t helping, of course. I still hope Shane Smith figures it out. He’s really the only option with upside.

Urquidy is a starter so that's 2 😎

I don't think he should have been made a reliever. They said they didn't want to return him as a starter because he wouldn't be stretched out and ready for MLB until mid-August. Well, guess when he debuted...

Sure, he hasn't looked great recently, but he was very impressive as a starter in AAA and I wouldn't be surprised if his command would've been better had he been stretched out rather than pitching for the first time in 10+ days

Hell probably appeal and win the appeal. IL stint is strong evidence alreadyy

Fedde was solid in the rotation.

Totally reasonable post, and you know I hate their approach of “let’s just make you a reliever to start with”. Chris Sale is a unicorn, and I wish they’d stop trying to make everyone into him.

Even if he wins appeal, it would go from 5 games or so to 3. I think he has to return, pitch to at least one batter, and then it starts the next day.

Dude's ERA is 8 over the past month. "not good" in an understatement

Always assumed starting pitchers got 5 games by default.

Honestly think he has the Yips. Remember Lester went through this early in his cubs career. He couldn't throw to first and he couldn't work out of a certain inning.

I don't think they bungled it.............I think he just s%*# the bed when he got a chance. He will have more chances
