I've literally stopped watching these games live because of how clueless they look every single game, makes you question the coaching and scouting/analytics, or if these young kids even listen to the coaching at all. that Meidroth and Vargas AB looked like the most ego driven trash I've seen in a while

He was great last year. But he spent a lot of the off-season bulking up and speeding up his swing. Quero tried to do the same and it totally killed his performance at the plate. On top of the injuries, I'm afraid that Teel might fall into the same trap.

What are the Sox hitting with RISP since end of last Saturday?

keeping Peters at the bottom of the lineup against RHP should get way more criticism than Ive seen, he's got an .850 OPS, .360 OBP against RHP this year

I think Teel will come back next to what we saw last year from him, this year has just been a nightmare for the kid with 3 injuries.

Early in the year, Stoney said he didn’t want Meidroth swinging for home runs, but instead doing what got him to the majors: taking pitches and walks and making contact.

Then he hit those homers, like around the Boston series, and his power seemed real and helpful, and Stoney stopped staying that. But now Stoney is looking very correct. During September Meidroth is killing the Sox with whiffs, it seems especially with RISP.

That’s it… Psych Sammy’s gone soft. I completely expected him to tackle both the pitcher and first baseman there.

I’m a Queron fan boy so when I see the other three catchers struggle, I smh, as Edgar sits in AAA. I know he hasn’t been great this year but I feel more comfortable with him.

Feels like league also realized if they throw him low and away, at best he would get a single

The power is for sure a surprise, but at the end of the day, Chase's physical limitations probably caps him at 15 homers. He has to pull the ball in the air to hit homers and he has to sell out a lot of his other qualities at the plate to do that.

Can the catcher challenge a pitch that was called a strike? Thinking back to Colson’s at bat, if a ball is called a strike and it allows the batter to reach base via dropped third, can the catcher challenge? That scenario wasn’t in play for Colson’s at bat because there were 3 balls, so he would be on first either way, but it got me wondering what the rules actually are for challenges.
