Pretty good chance we come out of this with at least the last wild card. I mean knock on wood but the collapse needed to fall completely out would be pretty epic and sad.

I think the last wild card is probably gonna get 82 or 83 wins. So if we go something like 7-11 the rest of the way, I can totally see us slipping out of that if Texas or Toronto get hot.

  • I'm not sure how Venable has given Mune 0 days off this whole time. Give him a day or 2 to work on some things in the cage. Get his mind right. You can't keep throwing him out there for him to strike

  • At this point he needs to wear it. They had a day off yesterday and you can't ruin the pen already.

One win in Cleveland, assuming we still have a lead like we do now pretty much ends it.

I cant be that mad at Burke but sheesh this is bad timing for a total stinker. Couldn't at least keep them under 5 runs? FFS

Oh I can. Like, seriously. Not having your best stuff is one thing. Giving up 7 runs in 1.1 innings is the type of s%*# that gets pitchers demoted.

Damn, September is a looong month....

The way I see this going is we all are on suicide watch during the PIT and STL series, tied for the division or maybe even down a game by the CLE series. Win 1, maybe 2 there. Then we finish strong and pound the Tigers, Royals and Rockies.

Relax. I'm going on a date tomorrow. We all know what happens then. If necessary, I'll schedule more this weekend

I will say, as an Arsenal supporter, watching us bottle it to City and then waking up the next day realizing that we could still win, changed my life when it comes to this stuff. Why I'm probably so calm is i know what implosions feel like and this ain't it.

Can you work in a trip to the beach in the morning to better the odds?

You betcha! Went Friday and.....

Just got home. Looks like theres plenty of new reasons to doom. Like Ive said, Fedde is the ace. That's not a compliment to him.

If people need a laugh, the meltdown cubs fans are having is hilarious.

Mama always said there’d be days like this. No time to feel sorry for yourselves. Go out & win a ballgame tomorrow!

They’re in the playoffs and we may not be there yet. No time to gloat.

Their wild card lead isn’t much different than the Sox

3.5 games if the Padres win tonight, but they own the season series against Arizona and San Diego.

Probanly true but Aren't we in the same position as them in terms lf games? Except we have the division lead on top of the WC lead.

Why must we always learn the lesson of the GameThread starter

They should still make the playoffs but their bullpen is a mess
