Literally cost this team the game.

Swinging straight up when a single ties the game just illustrates what’s gone wrong

Trying to hit a 9 run homer when you only need a single.

Grichuk is the only reason we're clinging to a half game lead. That s%*# is going to be gone in a day.

Can’t believe he didn’t play today

But they had to play Doyle! Venable is an idiot.

Doyle was 2/5 against McGreevy previously, but another offseason fixer upper if they even go to arbitration with him.

5 AB sample doesn't mean s%*# for a guy who's a sub .600 OPS hitter at the moment.

Many games.

Rarely does he boot the ball at the worst time and make the last out of the game with the bases loaded.

Oh well at least the Bills won

Feels like every error he’s made has led to a loss

Could easily see Cleveland with 🧹 with how bad the offense is lately.

Just put us out of our misery please

It’s going to be very hard for Getz to rebuild the momentum from the disaster of the last two months. I’m sure he’s not going to love increased attention to the Shirley debacle once there are no more Sox games to cover. Huge failure in character judgment.

For those that wanna cling to the Crede/Grichuck homer thing, the 05 team did lose the next two after the Crede homer game.

I’m not saying I believe in this team, but I do believe that baseball is a very weird game.

I expect that Charmin soft crybaby stuff from a lot of people here. But not you, ron. The ron I know has that dog in em.

It Colson knew how to go with the pitch he would have done something with 2 of the pitches he got.

That's the thing though, is it him or don't we have batting coaches who can teach our guys to not pull every fucking pitch. Sometimes you just have to hit what the pitchers are throwing and going the other way on outside pitches actually works.

Pitchers are throwing Kolston high heaters out of the zone, way inside or way outside. He's chasing a lot of bad pitches because he's obviously guessing, he's pulling a lot of pitches that if he just pokes it opposite field, he could make pitchers respect the fact that he could go oppo

Question is, do we have hard headed young hitters whom disregard what the batting coach is teaching or is this an indictment on our coaching staff failing them?

I'm sure JR convinced Getz to keep Shirley

Can we get Pablo Torres on this? Would be a shame if JR got in trouble.

What I'm done with is the damn platoon bullshit

Another thing, stop swinging for the fences all the time...hitting line drives is still valid in baseball 🙄

Just want to say this is another game where the deadline guys were of negative value.

I am getting pretty annoyed with posters that don't like that many of us are upset. They say this just shows this was not the year to go in at the trade deadline. Very few were saying trade Bonemar or Carlson but try to get better. This bullshit of only going after guys with control after this season was nonsense. Playoffs are not guaranteed and when you have a season where you can go you do not waste it by thinking you are the smartest guy in the room trading for players that noone else in the playoff hunt even remotely wanted. I'm sorry but I am pissed.

Just put Grichuk full time in RF. Beni DH vs righties, Bonemer or Quero vs LHP.

I have a hunch that Colson isn’t all that smart.

Yeah hurting the team this year AND next year’s roster/payroll is worst case scenario. Make no mistake, the deadline couldn’t have gone worse.

Found this quote from Fuller back when he was with the Orioles, if this is what he preaches to the Sox hitters, then you gotta start looking at Derek Shoman imo

Fuller: “We want that A-swing, especially before two strikes, whenever you pull the trigger on balls over the zone that you could do damage on. But we talk about trade-offs, too. How can we have a little more contact here? Maybe we turn down the dial on the effort level, especially with two strikes. OK, is this a situation that lends itself to going all out for damage, or is this one where we turn it back a little bit and play a little line-drive pepper around the field to score with that runner in scoring position?

“So, we talk about doing damage, but also the trade-offs in different situations. You want to have swings in your toolbox where you can say, ‘OK, I’m going to be more geared toward contact here.’ I think that’s super important.”

Who knows, but I wasn’t impressed with his demeanor at all in that Sox prospects show last year. Basically the anti-Wolkow.
