First off, we need to find a way to win the division and get a first round buy. If we do, the ALDS has days off between games 1 & 2, between games 2 & 3, and between games 4 & 5. Those days off would be make a huge difference for us as they let us empty the pen more frequently. The bye also let us give our staff a few days of much needed rest before we play October ball.

In terms of how you attack this, Burke & Davis are the only two guys you treat as true SPs and even then you probably limit them to five. Hagen & Newcomb should go multiple innings every other game. Piggyback Kay with Sandlin and Fedde & Schultz and them each through the order once. Taylor pitches the 9th every game. Empty the rest of the bullpen to fill in any gaps.

And your theory for a wildcard round, or are we just not built for that?

Burke is on full rest for game 2. Martin barely pitched today and could possibly go for game 1, but do you want him to?

Fedde is the other option, but do you really want a guy who needs an opener and shouldn't face a lineup 3 times to be your game 1 starter?

I don't think going with Sandlin is realistic since he doesn't even have 10 ML starts under his belt. Are we possibly looking at a bullpen game?

we are going to go by committee at least for game 1.

I also wouldn't doubt if they hold Kay back to start game 1 and pitch 3-4 innings then you have Fedde or Hagan for a couple innings

It's a tough situation, this team was short on starters all year and they had to try to use the best because the division title was still a possibility, can't blame them for that.

This is like the 2020 playoffs, same deal, only had two starters and had to go to a bullpen game for the third. Used nine pitchers and obviously that didn't work out.

If there is an off season, if they play next year the priority has to be pitching, pitching and more pitching despite JR's unwillingness to pay the going rate for it.

Game 1: Rocker

Game 3: Eovaldi

Last games mostly ugly but gave good clues as to who we can’t trust.

Game 3: Martin

Acuna’s bum ass or an equal loser had better be starting tomorrow’s game.
