  • Getz will still be hyping Castillo as being in the best shape of his lifetime coming into ST.

I am going to be honest here, 2005 to 2006 is in the back of my head, where we rode our top dogs hard, and then they fell off the next year for the most part. If it were me, I am 100% looking for big

  • Why the hell are we having conversations about getting rid of grant taylor when he literally just had one of the best relief performances in postseason history.

Call me crazy, but I love the idea of having both Taylor and Hagen as multi inning weapons out of the pen. Obviously easier said than done with the value/scarcity of SP’s, but sure would be nice to acquire/spend $ on proven SP’s AND have a dominant pen.

That 4 inning save was stellar....it also might have gassed him. Taylor gave up some long outs in game 2 and well he looked awful today.

You're not funny

Tell me where it’s wrong. Castillo will get every chance to start.

They'd better package him for a bag of baseballs and sushi pops. There needs to be upgrades

No one is taking on Castillo’s deal

The only way that rotation survives is if the lockout lasts until June or July and they only play 100 games.

Not disagreeing with your point but if this is what the Sox trot out there whenever they do play that is a recipe for disaster.

One can hope that someone is dumb enough to take it.

Another issue they will have to navigate is none of the young guys built up their innings total. Gonna be a lot of restrictions once again next year.

How much would he even get on the open market? 6-7 million?

They're gonna have to look at addition by subtraction. Might need to sacrifice some of the young ones for upgrade of they have to trade but it's unfortunately not likely

Castillo is going to get booed out of the damn stadium unless he gets hot quick.

Isn't Kay a free agent after this year? I doubt they bring him back.

And then Thorpe will replace him

That's something that I can't figure out. This has happened a few times this year.

The guy has electric stuff, he can look unhittable one game, then a few nights later look like he belongs in single A trying to figure out what the hell to do.

Kay has another season I think.

We'll see if an injury prone guy who throws in the low 90's can succeed for any length of time.

Zero chance of this happening unless you think they are rocking a $85M payroll next year.

It’s already around $100 million without new deals for Fedde or Newcomb…

The guy has been overused, he and just about the rest of the staff is gassed.

True. But this team being what it is, he’s either gonna put up, or he’s getting dropped. Too much at stake to play a guy just for money. If the Sox were losing 90 games, different story, who cares.

Getz will need to sign a couple reliable starters, Kay and Castillo can’t be in the rotation . Fedde and Sandlin should be used as spot starters or long relievers.

There's only one Chris Getz out there
