Tuesday at 11:30 PM3 days Bonemer is destroying AFL pitching. First HR today, OPS is over 1100. I'd guess he starts in AAA next year and they hope he's ready by July.
Wednesday at 03:47 AM3 days Old friend Boston Smith posting a .411 OPS in AFL after a notable dropoff in his production post-trade.

Not too upset about losing him but the Castillo acquisition was a disaster. Wonder if a better player could have been acquired for Smith. I guess we'll never know.

We are clogged in the MI upper minors and ML team. When that all thins out, we'll have him ready. he has a ton of potential.Yea 1 pitcher probably would have won the Cle series; but who's to say that we would have even gotten that? Cubs traded their #1 guy for someone who couldn't make the postseason roster.. We could have also gotten that 1 pitcher with a better use of the pieces we did trade. July trades for buyers are tough propositions. On another matter, Bonemer will probably be ready out of the spring, at least on offense. Edited Wednesday at 11:11 PM2 days by GreenSox

Thursday at 04:03 PM1 day I see Roch and Carlson on different timelines/generations. Emerson might have made Carlson expendable.Roch makes one of Colson/Meidroth/Vargas maybe even Antonacci expandable soon enough? A while back, I suggested that the Sox trade Vargas after 27 if they aren't resigning him (that was a very popular suggestion). Roch could fit right in. Colson was annoying at the end of the season; but he's a good defender and with just a bit more contact.....Sox even have some other MI that look interesting. Maybe another Meidroth that we don't know about.I'm hoping Meidroth is the Sox version of Altuve for the next 10 years.

No one is "expendable", though I do hope all are "expandable" on their successes.

Heck, they can even split 1B/DH duties if he is extended since Benintendi will be gone.

Great start and a great finish and I guess we won't talk about what happened in the middle. He played a handful of games in the Venezuelan league last offseason and hit poorly; I assume he didn't get more ABs because he wasn't viewed as playable. So just getting consistent ABs would say a little something although Luisangel ran roughshod over that same league last year.
