Where is the Botch Bandwagon now?

Featured Replies

It definitely would be interesting to see what Mr. Zero could

do as everyday closer, but my vote goes to Marte.

Rowand f***ed up, big deal.

It IS a big deal. He's not a "very good defensive OF" he's always hyped as and never will be - these "small" f***-ups that are not scored as errors are part of the reason why. His defense in this Oakland series has been particularly brutal.

He doesn't boot that ball, the tying runner is held up at 3rd. The next batter grounded into what would have been a routine, game-ending DP.....

And then you got his ever-so-clutch hitting.....This is the guy annointed Magglio's successor.

There has never been a Botch Bandwagon as far as i'm concerned.

Just a few people who manage to tolerate him.

Personally as soon as rowand missed that hit I knew we were screwed.

Ohh well at least it's only a two game series and we're still in first place.

I'm not to worried about it just move on and get em tommarrow.

The defense wasn't entirely our players fault as they aren't used to the turf.

Magglios successor, please...that just makes me want to :puke ...how could you have Rowand, a number 5 outfielder at best on the ball club STARTING?

Koch has 7 saves, 1 hold and 1 blown save this year.

Marte has 2 saves, 5 holds, and 4 blown saves this year. He hasn't done enough to show me he deserves the closer role and as a lefty is far too valuable to make the full time closer.

Shingo is the more logical choice allowing no runs in 11.2 IP in the month of May. Are the Sox afraid the league will adjust to him if we use him too much?

I'm still here on the bandwagon.

Jeckle - that's the best post I've ever seen you write. Totally agreed. We didn't play particularly well, and we lost. Forget about it, and go get 'em in Seattle.

Is that Gary Glover in your avatar?

Has he ever hit in the 1st half when Sox needed his offense the most?

Check April-June of 2002 and 2003.

Past means nothing to me. What the players do now and in the future is what I believe is where they are at. I don't take the little phony stats (even if they are factually correct) because scouts and gms know what the player is all about and whether he is improving or or declining in value. Got it?

And Rowand clinches the Royce Clayton for his second straight season.

I hear you, but my point of view or two cents is from scouting reports.

It seems like he's had a lot more than two blown saves.

He's been very, very lucky to not give up more runs than we are ahead by..

Glad to see someone finally taking my points seriously....

GO SOX! :bringit

Damn you are nasty with the player analogies tonight!

BUMP

Since you think he is greater than Shingo, I thought you'd like to join his bandwagon.

Well timed bump.

Nuke,

While I agree that Shingo is not the guy who should be getting the ball right now, you're way to quick to call a guy on "sucking".

Has he had an outing this season where he has faced more than one batter and did not give up a run? If you're a "closer" who can give up a run in one inning of work and LOWER your ERA then you're pretty sorry.

Opening day. Remember he had some issues at the beginning of last year also, shingo's going to be fine.

I didn't know anthony007=T R U.

Just looking through this thread I thought that was a funny little tidbit. Here's to Aaron for making that statement seem hilarious right now... :cheers
