We got ourselves a mascot

Good for the Sox. I don't quite understand why it would be a bad thing...maybe I can't see it being a bad thing because I've been to too many minor league hockey games...lol

It's on the Sox website, our new mascot is Southpaw. Yippee skip.

Brooks is going to try and get more families out to the ballpark...which he should. One way of entertaining the kids...is a mascot.

I love that Mascot, the only question I have is, what is that? I love the wall paper for him! It's better than the SoxTalk's wallpaper!

Ha look at the buttons on the uniform; they're the pinwheels that are on the scoreboard.

I think kids would be frightened of that thing. I know I would.

Old time reflection

The players use to be the mascots. For basically traveling fees, the Cubs starting SS and future WS player, Don Kessinger spoke at my youth baseball banquet. Try that today.

Mascots can be fun. Anything that the kids will enjoy is ok by me. But as someone pointed out for every few kids that will love Southpaw, some will be frightened.

To a 4 year old Mickey Mouse can be a 6 foot f***ing rat  Now remember kids DO NOT talk to strangers, hey kids, go give that green freakish looking mutant a hug

I have waited for the day that we finally would get a mascot. I really wished they would have kept the dancing vendors, because that was a funny idea. I really enjoyed that as entertainment instead of that stupid Airplane race. Please, how boring is that? Woo, we know they are all rigged, as well as the Fan-O-Meter!

its gonna scare me!!1 nightmares! lol

The Dallas Cowboys have their cheerleaders, we have Southpaw

I'll be eagerly awaiting your Wallpaper for July.

He's got a big nose for a mascot, nothin like the Capital City Goofball though. ;)

his look is a little weird but if he's as goofy as the phillie phanatic then bring him on!!!!!

Just call him plain ol' Goof.

I don't have a problem with a mascot. I personally think it's somewhat lame. But, if it helps make a bunch of kids Sox fans, then I'm all for it.

I absolutely love this idea.

I can't believe some of you guys are against it.

Show some heart guys it's for the kids.

If some kid wants to become a sox fan because of him then I say great.

GO SOX!

GO Southpaw!

Invading our turf?!?

Watch your back Southie!!

:D

he should have a giant Hellboy-esque left hand and go around punching fans of the away team

meh....alright.

Don't care either way, but as you guys said, kids will like it.
