Let's get our minds off of that loss. I hate the old cliches, but as Hawk always refers to, "You're gonna win 60, you're gonna lose 60, it's what you do with the other 42 that count". Well, that was one of the 60 losses. How about getting back on track with the starting pitching, ehh Freddy?

To a third straight series win. :) :cheers

I expect a sharper Freddy then we got on Weds and he pitched pretty solid for seeming to not have anything. I expect a bounce back game and another victory, remember we're 1 and 0 this year after a loss :P

Monday marks the White Sox's third opener, of sorts, this season. They won their season opener and home opener last Monday by a 1-0 margin over the Indians and defeated the Twins on Friday, 5-1, in Minnesota's home opener. Monday's game serves as Cleveland's home opener.

The White Sox also played in three openers during Guillen's debut season as manager. They lost the season opener in Kansas City, lost to the Yankees at Yankee Stadium in their home opener and defeated the Royals at U.S. Cellular Field to start the 2004 campaign in Chicago.

Game Notes:

South Siders head to Indians' opener

White Sox (4-2) at Cleveland (3-3), 2:05 p.m. CT

If it's some sort of significant season opener, even one week into the regular season, then the White Sox figure to be involved.

They opened the regular season at home, for the first time in 15 years, with a 1-0 victory over the Cleveland Indians last Monday. Then, they traveled to Minnesota this past weekend and took part in the Twins' home opener Friday night, in which their late, great public address announcer, Bob Casey, was honored in an emotional ceremony before the game. The White Sox won that particular contest by a 5-1 margin.

On Monday, the White Sox get a second-week rematch with the Indians, as Cleveland opens its home portion of the schedule at Jacobs Field. The afternoon contest pits Freddy Garcia against Kevin Millwood, the same matchup as last Wednesday, when the White Sox rallied for victory with four runs in the bottom of the ninth off Cleveland closer Bob Wickman.

Catcher Chris Widger becomes the last position player to see live-game action, when he gets the start Monday afternoon. He did warm up in the bullpen when manager Ozzie Guillen ran out of pitchers last Thursday, but never got into the game.

Pitching matchup

CWS: RHP Freddy Garcia

• 0-0, 3.00 ERA in 2005

• 0-0, 3.00 in 2005 vs. CLE

CLE: RHP Kevin Millwood

• 0-0, 0.00 ERA in 2005

• 0-0, 0.00 in 2005 vs. CWS

Player to watch

Tadahito Iguchi had two hits and a sacrifice fly against Johan Santana during Sunday night's contest, but it was his approach in each at-bat that was truly impressive. Iguchi was down two strikes all four times against Santana, but always got the job done. He is now hitting .389, with two RBIs and three runs scored.

Quotable

"That's the biggest thing. Win the series. If we do that all year, we are going to win a lot of games. We beat a couple of guys, in [brad] Radke and [Kyle] Lohse, who have handled the White Sox well. We had a chance against [Johan] Santana, but we have to go to Cleveland and start over." -- White Sox catcher A.J. Pierzynski on taking the series from the Twins, despite losing the third game

Buehrle is now 0-3 with a 5.73 ERA in his last three starts against the Twins. ... Carl Everett had six hits and six RBIs during the three-game series against Minnesota. He has a career batting average of .416 (32-for-77) at the Metrodome. ... The White Sox are 2-1 on this six-game road trip and 4-2 against the American League Central. ... i expect a very good game from freddy( ) because suposably he didnt have his stuff his last start, yet he gave up only 2 runs, one which was because a balk. if the sox win today, they have a very good chance to take the sereis.

c'mon sox and lets make it 3 series wins in a row! :headbang

(i wonder if ozzie would use shingo in the 9th if it calls for a save situation.)
