This one all comes down to 2 stories...2 young quarterbacks against defenses...the Bears defense is almost certainly better than the Lions, but Harrington is also much more experienced than Orton and has better weapons.

If you're a lions fan, this is a real good test for Harrington. He has to find a way to get his team into the end zone a couple times. If he can, they'll win the game.

If you're a Bears fan...this is another good chance at a win, simply because it's another offense, like Washington's, that you can shut down, and I don't feel Detroit's defense is nearly as solid as Washington.

No, Detroits defense is definitely not as good as Washingtons. But Dick Jauron, while not a good HC, is a pretty good DC and can make the best with what he has. And to add to that, he still knows alot of players on the Bears, so he can probably spot a weakness in the offense.

Detroit's defense is terrible...one of the absolute worst in the NFL. They make the Redskins look like the Steel Curtain. Yes, the Packers are that bad if they could only put up 3 points against this squad:

DE: HOLE

DT: Marcus Bell (Solid)

DT: Shaun Rogers (All-Pro Caliber)

DE: James Hall (Solid)

OLB: Boss Bailey (Solid)

MLB: HOLE

OLB: HOLE

CB: Fernando Bryant (Solid)

CB: Dre Bly (Solid)

SS: Kenoy Kennedy (Solid)

FS: HOLE

In theory, you should be able to pass all day against this team and run for a lot of yards outside of the DEs.

But the Bears offense would have a hard time against some NFL Europe teams, so a win is nowhere near a sure thing.

I don't care where thier weaknesses are. With a rookie QB running the show we better be able to establish a running game or we have very little chance. Solid DEE and ball control running is our best shot at a win Sunday!

Word up, Juice.

My Prediction:

Bears 17 Lions 10

Orton 200 passing yards

TJ 80 rushing yards

Benson 30 rushing yards

Muhsin 70 recieving yards

Bradley 90 recieving yards and a TD

the problem is, the Lions will be geared up to stop the run, and they'll make Orton beat them through the air, raising another problem, that being Orton only having one reliable target. but still...

GO BEARS!

My prediction:

Bears 13

Lions 10

Orton will get good protection but make a couple costly mistakes. Bears win on a 43 yard Doug Brien field-goal with 3 1/2 minutes left. With the Lions making a long drive in the 2-minute offense, the Bears hold them on a 1st and Goal at the 2 and Lance Briggs intercepts a Harrington pass to Mike Williams to end the game.

Well right now their other DT is Dan Wilkinson I thought gets the majority of the playing time. Also I think Bly has proven he is all pro calibur with his last 2 seasons he had.

Focusing my attention on Bears football in late September...

Where have I seen this one before?

Bears will not only win, they'll win big. 160 rushing yards (between Jones/Benson) and 2 td's from Orton while the defense plays an oustanding football game.

i think the bears are going to win too.........no idea why.

Maybe because that'll cheer me up after the sox lose again.

Detroit to hold the Bears under 100 yards rushing, and Detroit to win 17-10.

JONES IS TEARING SOME s*** UP!!!!!!!!!

Bears about to score.

EDIT: Bears punch it in. 7-0

Good thing they replaced that useless Green with Harris. Now there is a guy who makes plays.

I thought it was Tillman's fault for not holding up Williams. You know, for a supposedly great defense, the Bears sure seem to give up a lot of yards.

Azumah >>> Bradley returning kicks.

Anyone have a link for a radio stream that works?

WOW, A FIELD GOAL KICKER WHO CAN KICK.

How refreshing.

10-6 DA BEARS now.

Nice catch by Gage.
