October 4, 200520 yr Let's just hope he doesn't throw it like he did when he was turnin the 3-6-1 DP. Otherwise it might hit the backstop Awesome to have the Big Hurt there to throw it out for his fellow mates. I am so f***ing excited for this game.
October 4, 200520 yr QUOTE(fathom @ Oct 4, 2005 -> 12:15 AM) #35 Awesome! I know I'm getting ahead of myself here, but I think both he and McCarthy deserve a full share.
October 4, 200520 yr B-Mac needs the share, he's a po folk just like us (well nto really). Franks also deserves and will unquestionable get a full share although I bet he'd spend it on a party for the team if we do well
October 4, 200520 yr I can just see FT throwing the ball over AJs head. Edited October 4, 200520 yr by knightni
October 4, 200520 yr QUOTE(fathom @ Oct 3, 2005 -> 11:15 PM) #35 Wait a sec, will his throw make it to the plate?
October 4, 200520 yr Wow...great news. Wasn't sure how Frank was doing or his position among the rest of the team. I guess everything is ok and I cannot wait to see it tomorrow...even if I am in the Upper Deck. The place will just go nuts and the team should really respond to the energy...good call having Frank throw out the first pitch.
October 4, 200520 yr I hope this isn't Frank's last appearance as a member of the White Sox. I'm sure he'll get a lot of love from the fans. Oh ... Frank will get a full share as it's a rule because he was on the DL.
October 4, 200520 yr Not trying to rain on anyone's parade - but wouldn't Mayor Daley have been a logical choice?
October 4, 200520 yr QUOTE(Mercy! @ Oct 4, 2005 -> 01:16 AM) Not trying to rain on anyone's parade - but wouldn't Mayor Daley have been a logical choice? Nope. He was jockin the Cubs 2 years ago. Frank is the perfect choice.
October 4, 200520 yr Nope. He was jockin the Cubs 2 years ago ..... Please! No one doubts Daley’s bona fides as a huge Sox fan. But his recent remarks about one or two of Ozzie's decisions might not have gone over too well with some. Don’t know if its true, but I’ve heard one story that his mother was buried with a White Sox cap in her casket.
October 4, 200520 yr Maybe Graffy could then bat for him*. *If you don't get the reference, you aren't reading enough threads.
October 4, 200520 yr QUOTE(fathom @ Oct 4, 2005 -> 12:15 AM) #35 Very awesome thing for the Sox to do!
October 4, 200520 yr QUOTE(Mercy! @ Oct 4, 2005 -> 01:16 AM) Not trying to rain on anyone's parade - but wouldn't Mayor Daley have been a logical choice? World Series Myself I go with former govenor and big Sox fan Jim Thompson.
October 4, 200520 yr QUOTE(Mercy! @ Oct 4, 2005 -> 02:16 AM) Not trying to rain on anyone's parade - but wouldn't Mayor Daley have been a logical choice? QUOTE(Jordan4life_2005 @ Oct 4, 2005 -> 02:42 AM) Nope. He was jockin the Cubs 2 years ago. Frank is the perfect choice. Thank you. I am glad I am not the only one who remembers Hizzonar in Atlanta for the 2003 playoffs sporting a Cubs hat. Screw him. There are plenty of people I would rather see throw out the first pitch, and Frank Thomas is way up the list.
October 4, 200520 yr That is soooo cool! Problem is I won't get to see any of the game until the half-way point. Anybody recording this thing? PM me. I think this is the best possible choice for the Sox for a first pitch. I think more than anything is really echoes the "chemistry" that we have heard all year that this team has.
October 4, 200520 yr Great idea, but I don't want to see Frank go into a full wind up and put all his weight on his ankle.
October 4, 200520 yr Shoot, any chance he'll throw REALLY good and we can get Viz removed from the roster on the next series and Frank put in as a pitcher?
October 4, 200520 yr i really need to get out of that meeting early now....i can not miss him throwing out the first pitch
