January 19, 200620 yr QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Jan 18, 2006 -> 11:08 PM) What do you guys think of the apparent new ESPN.com homepage. I thought I was on the wrong site at first... I don't like it right now, but I'm sure I'll get used to it eventually.
January 19, 200620 yr I dont think its that much different. They keep making them wider and wider though, and that pisses me off because they always load up annoying videos when i am not paying attention. I wish there wasnt so much s*** going on in the page. I have my tv for watching, I want to read the site.
January 19, 200620 yr Was surprised as well. Don't visit much in the offseason, but liked the categories on the left, maybe because I'm used to them. Also, I liked my personalized score zone/team thingy on the side, and now it's somewhere in the middle/side
January 19, 200620 yr Doesn't seem too bad, just wish they limit the amount of ads and videos. Thank god for Firefox and Flashblock.
January 19, 200620 yr Author Its not as dark as it used to be, and they are implementing Flash even more, so I can't complain. There's a heck of alot of info thrown at you just on the home page though, as others have said.
January 19, 200620 yr I don't like it as much. The "My ESPN" part is much lower than it used to be, so if I want to see any quick news on my favorite teams, I have to actually go down the page to see it. Call me lazy, but I like it the old way much more.
January 19, 200620 yr they tried fixing something that wasn't broken. don't like it, but i'll get used to it...
January 19, 200620 yr Author Wow, thats pretty crazy how similar they are. I have a feeling you will see one of the two changing their layout pretty soon, especially if sportsline throws a hissy fit over it.
January 19, 200620 yr QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jan 19, 2006 -> 12:04 PM) ROFL, I don't even notice a difference. Why does that not surprise a single mod or admin on this site?
January 19, 200620 yr QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jan 19, 2006 -> 11:04 AM) I don't even notice a difference. me neither
January 21, 200620 yr Hate it. ESPN has always been the easiest site to navigate on the net. This is now gone since they got rid of the side bar menus in favor of ugly and hard to use drop downs. They have had the side bar since 1997, suprised they got rid of it. For whatever reason, they are also the only site that feels the need to redesign each and every year. Most of the time, it's for the worse.
January 23, 200620 yr Yea, I'm getting the same thing. It seems much slower to me recently, probably the new layout.
