Actor Chris Penn Dead

January 24, 2006

ET has confirmed that actor CHRIS PENN, who is the younger brother of SEAN PENN and star of movies like 'Reservoir Dogs' and 'Starsky & Hutch' has died. Investigators were on the scene Tuesday, where Penn was found dead in Santa Monica, CA. He was 43. Penn played the role of Nice Guy Eddie in QUENTIN TARANTINO's 1992 cult hit 'Reservoir Dogs'; he also appeared in the movie 'Rush Hour' and on episodes of the television shows "Entourage" and "Everwood." Penn is survived by his mother, EILEEN RYAN, and brothers Sean and MICHAEL.

WHAT????? Wow, funny guy. Last I saw him was his cameo on "Entourage" when Drama wanted money for his calf implants.

I guarantee his death was either due to a drug overdose, or a murder related to drug activity.

Wouldn't surprise me. If it is natural causes, it is heart failure, my guess.

This is a real shame. He was great in most the movies I saw him in, especially Reservoir Dogs.

Well now there's nobody to stop Keitel from pointing a gun at his dad.

/RD fan

Unfortunate news, however if you look at his physical appearance over the years it was obvious something was wrong.

yeah he had gained a ton of wait. Pretty good actor too, underrated. Exceptional in RD

Pulaski's DEAD!!!!

He sounded like a fairly good actor though.

IIRC, he had thyroid issues and had been clean for quite a while. Very possible it was natural causes.

Now I'll cry every time I play San Andreas.

I had to watch Footloose last night on HBO, to honor Chris Penn :). After seeing that, and seeing his later films, I am going to guess it was heart related. He was probably 150 lbs smaller in Footloose, if not more. What a shame, I thought he was really good too.

His best work was in 'Deceiver" with Tim Roth, anyone seen it?

RIP.

None taken, I didn't make the film. Besides, I commented on Penn's performance, not the film as a whole.

Sean Penn sucks. The fat brother is always better.

Randy Quaid, John Belushi, Daniel Baldwin, etc.

Sean Penn is the most talented actor in his age group.

I don't disagree, but I'd like to see him make a movie without doing that "pickle face" thing of his.

If he and Renee Zellweger made a movie together, their faces would implode from the centrifugal force of being near each other.

That's what I keep telling my family!!!

Another death today, RIP.

Damn, and what does that say about his age group?

I think that Sean Penn is incredibly dull, but maybe it's just me. He was okay in the 80s, I suppose.

Nah, I don't think you're dull at all HHJ. :P

Nice one, although Sean Penn is probably old enough to be my father. :D
