Bring in Juan!

Cintron rocks lefties for the most part.

Haha. Thats what I get.

Ugh...that was ugly.

Putrid.

Rally killer.. yes!

Argh, our luck against Liriano (other than the BA at bat) runs out. 1-2-3 double play, and that one really hurts.

Liriano works out of it, we get 1 but blow a chance for a couple more. Still a 5 run lead heading to the 8th. :)

Juan is $ w/ a runner on 3rd and less than 2 out

But it was bases loaded nobody out so we were more playing for the big inning, Cintron hammers lefties, and Juan has trouble with guys that have overwhelming raw stuff.

That is true. He's a sac fly king.

Ha....Anderson owns "stuff" pitchers.  Does this mean he shouldn't even bother against J. Moyer?

Pretty much. Right now, he's getting himself out between the ears.

He's actually trying to be too patient. He wouldn't be striking out as much if he was more aggressive. His contact skills aren't as bad as what he's shown, but he's running deep counts and trying to fight pitches off.

Once he reaches a healthy balance of swinging early when he likes his pitches, and taking when he's comfortable against a pitcher, we'll see a different hitter at the plate.

No problem with Cintron batting there. He just seemed a little eager at the plate.

I would like to say that I hate having Brandon in right now. I don't like the fact that he's working in 2 innings every darn game he's in. Let Thornton pitch, it's been a while.

I couldn't agree more. He's so in-between at the plate. I'd rather just see him swing hard, and try to hit the ball in the gaps or over the fence. Honestly, he looks like a pitcher at the plate right now. He's not coming close to getting his arms extended on his swings.

I'd rather see if McCarthy can get us to the 9th inning with a big lead, and then bring in Thornton. If you're going to bring McCarthy in, might as well take advantage of it.

Rack em up.

Agreed. Brian needs to realize we have a pretty patient team as it is and he doesn't need to work too hard for walks. When there is a chance for one, go for it, but at the same time be more aggressive and don't pass on pitches to hit in order to try and get a walk.

And once again, B-Mac with stellar work out of the pen. Thatta boy.

And he only threw 16 pitches in his appearance so far today.

It's more the fact that I don't like him pitching 2 innings every time he's out there. I know he's got the stamina to do it but he's in a new situation this year and we don't need him getting worn down, down the stretch.

He hasn't been getting a whole ton of work recently, and he also didn't throw that many pitches tonight. I agree with the premise that he shouldn't have to throw 2 innings an outing, but I can see the thought process here tonight, especially with how our pitching has been playing with fire this evening and is VERY fortunate to have only given up 2 runs.

Mercy. Crain looks awful this year.
