And Jenks lost it.

Not excuse for Bobby. spiffty spiffty pitching performance by him. Hits a guy that winds up being the tying.

That could have been a DP in the infield was at normal depth, but oh well

If you're going to walk the guy to load the bases, you have to play the infield back to try and get the DP.

Yeah but we have to get the run out at home plate first, too bad it happened like this.

Why was the infield in

Ask the manager.

No you go for the double play with the bases loaded.

way to go Oz.

maybe your ass will realize that Javy sucks after 5 innings. get BMac in there and trade Javy for sunflower seeds or something.

and I have seen teams bring someone else in for the 9th when your closer has pitched 2 days in a row!

Yeah, there is really no reason for Iguchi to be playing in there. You need to turn a double play.

Jenks has looked extremely hittable now, I would give him about 2-3 days off

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jul 30, 2006 -> 03:42 PM)
One of the worst losses of the year IMO.

Swear to mother fishing god nothing can click at the same time.

These last two days have been an exhibition for the problems of this team. All offense, and garbage pitching that can't hold leads.

QUOTE(DonkeyKongerko @ Jul 30, 2006 -> 03:42 PM)
jenks = gassed.

He wasnt gassed. His velocity was fine. He threw a few curves over for the first batter, and then tried to overthrow his fastball. He plunked Tejada. Then they realized that all they had to do was look for one pitch. Bad game all around, except for Dye.

shoulda left thornton in imo.

I guess Javy will go for his 100th loss next time.

QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 30, 2006 -> 03:42 PM)
Well, that sucked. Let the meltdown begin. Jenks...use your curveball once buddy!

He seldom has the curveball on a second consecutive day. On the third day, I'm guessing it was just not an option.

As always -- and justifiably -- I blame Vazquez.

You play for teh DP after the IBB

When Jenks has been most effective this year, he used the offspeed pitch with 2 strikes. He hasn't thrown as many fastballs passed hitters this season as he did last year.

Oh well, didnt get the sweep. Good series by us, and time to look for a sweep in the next series.

A WHITE SOX LOSER despite all Dye did to prevent that.

Vasquez ... thumbs down

Jenks ... thumbs down

Cotts ... thumbs down

Pods ... thumbs down

Ozzie ... BIG THUMBS DOWN

Well, he's tired. Sox need to blow the Royals out the next couple of games to give him a rest.

And also: this is only his second blown save of the season. He's going to blow some saves, you can't think he's going to save every game, even the best blow some. It's impossible not to. Tip your hat to the Orioles for getting a couple of clutch hits and go get the Royals tomorrow.

No it was the right call, you put your closer in. He didnt execute.

They fought hard to come back, Dye did a good job, but Jenks has a problem with the Orioles. Sucks badly, but at least we won the first 2.

especially when Lopez is the hitter
