I'm watching that amazing Duke comeback on ESPNClassic right now. Just watching Jay Williams a bit got me wondering -- how was he in his one season with the Bulls? Did it look like he was on his way to becoming a pretty good player in the league? I guess that question leads up to this -- if Jay Williams hadn't have gotten hurt, I'm probably correct in saying the Bulls wouldn't have drafted Kirk Hinrich? And one more question -- who would the Bulls have drafted/wanted the Bulls to have drafted?

Jay had a pretty good rookie season (9.5 ppg, 4.7 apg). I'd say his season highlight was the triple double he recorded against New Jersey while being matched up with Jason Kidd most of the game. I never thought he would be a star (obviously will never know), but I thought he had a chance to be a very good player. And you're right, with he and Jamal Crawford in the PG mix, there would've been no point in drafting Hinrich, another PG. Who would we have drafted instead of Hinrich? I remember us being interested in Jarvis Hayes and Michael Pietrus. Either would've fit in quite nicely at SF -- the position we were lacking at the most at the time, especially Pietrus.

I think I've mentioned this since he was drafted several times but... I  Tyrus Thomas.

What a great game to be at, although any game where your in the 14th row downstairs for FREE is a good one. Thabo and Tyrus get some PT, and what do ya know?? They look good (and yes, GS quit during the 2nd half, but those 2 did most of their damage during the 1st).

How does Pietrus (sp?) look? All I could remember hearing about him when GS drafted him was "the European Michael Jordan".

He showed some flashes when he was in, and has a lot of talent, but was inconsistent when he was in and fouled out in limited minutes. Basically tonight's game was a microcosim of his NBA career so far. I made the comment about how he was known as the European Michael Jordan to my friend who went to the game with me, and she looked at me like I was nuts, even though she's a big NBA follower. Maybe that better explains how he looked, lol.

Actually, the 2 best looking players for GS were Azibuike, who's been in the D League most of this year and Ellis, a 2nd round draft pick out of HS a couple years ago. Although, they have been hurt bad by injuries, Adonnal Foyle even got in tonight, so yeah.

I got free tickets to see the Jazz and Timberwolves tonight... can't wait to see Deron Williams and Dee Brown :P

Bulls all over Tyson and the Hornets tonight. It was nice to see him get booed :drink

Precious:

Final line..

20pts 19reb (8off 11def) 1 stl 2 blks (I thought he had 3 but they didnt count it) 4 straight double doubles. The change of scenery has really helped him.

Really his numbers are no surprise based on his Chicago numbers with the additional minutes he is getting with the Hornets.

I was at the Bulls game today (I work for the Bucks as one of those annoying types on the concourses who asks you if you want to sign up for a chance to win free airline tickets :D ).

First off, I saw John Paxson up close which was neat. They put me in a kiosk (sp?) in the Courtside Club, which is more or less a bar/club type that serves food and has a big drinking section along with loads of HD TVs. Paxson was waiting in the elevator right next to my kiosk. He was taking pictures with people, and as soon as they left, the elevator came, so unfortunately for me, I couldn't get a handshake and a 'hello' in.

On to the game -- what more can you say about about Michael Redd and Ben Gordon -- both were amazing tonight. For the most part, these weren't open looks. Both were hitting shots with hands-in-the-face, tight defense. Deng was his usual solid self, although his 27 (? -- however many) was the quietest 27 points I think I've ever seen.

I know Hinrich had 23 and a decent shooting night from the field (7-of-15 FG, 4-of-5 FT), but I was dissappointed with some of his turnovers. The two obvious travels should (IMO) be a rarity for a PG, and I questioned some of his other passes. Just a minor quibble, I suppose...

And then there's Duhon. Yuck. How the hell did Sefolosha not play in today's game? Duhon was really bad. Sloppy with the ball, poor shooting from the field... I know Sef has his really stupid moments, too, but I don't think he could have been worse than Duhon was tonight.

Overall a fun experience. Bulls fans packed the place, I'd say it was 60-40 Bucks fans to Bulls fans, although it's tough to tell now that the Bucks have gone red-and-green rather than the purple.

I wonder if it is the change of scenery. The Bulls made a mistake by trading him bottom line.Pax just wanted to get rid of anything Krause.I have no problem with the Curry trade because he is a jackass but getting rid of Chandler is going to haunt them for some time.

Willie knew all along. You're an odd bird around these parts based on your basketball smarts.

Overall Rebounding

1. Kevin Garnett 12.6

2. Tyson Chandler 12.5

3. Dwight Howard 12.1

Offensive Rebounding

1. Tyson Chandler 4.4

2. Emeka Okafor 4.1

3. Ben Wallace 3.9

oopsies...

There's so much more, but I only went back to the beginning of 2006. I do this for comedic value, and also because b****es need to own up to what they say on here.

I know that basketball is incredibly confusing, though.

Yes, Tyson chandler is a good role player. What else do you want people to admit?

The reason for all the Tyson hate on this board is all Hammer's fault lol, his chronic homerism about Chandler just turned everyone off, I actually used to be a huge Chandler fan and than I just got so sick of hearing abot hammer tell everyone how great he was I started disliking him.

Well he was right about some things. Chandler is a great role player, he will be a good piece in a puzzle. But the kid is not a star. Out of the top 5 rebounders in the league, I think I would take him 5th.

He's got a real point guard and isn't dogging it like he did last year (I don't even think Hammerhead could make a legit argument to the contrary there), while getting more minutes. Simple equation.

The Mavericks are the first team to clinch a playoff spot, not a surprise there.
