Floyd gave up 3 first inning BOMB, 4 earned runs, to the Tigers AAA affiliate. Anything Danks can do, he can do s***tier, I suppose.

I've grown really tired of Hawk and DJ's complete lack of objective baseball analysis. It's like story-time with Uncle Hawk, who has gone a little senile.

His WHIP has been pretty awful at last check this year.

 

Yeah -- he gave up four in the first but has thrown up five zeros since then. Five hits plus three walks with six Ks. Still, though, the three homers isn't going to do anything to help his GB/FB ratio that was supposed to be high (or so KW told us based on his US Cellular Field fitting movement on his pitches).

Danks is snapping a better breaking ball this inning, FWIW. I'm more concerned about that pitch than his fast ball, as Baseball America said that he had a great curveball.

it was over 5 coming into this game.. so im guessin 8ish?..ozzie has honestly done a good job at protecting him....3 runs in 4.2 IP isnt exactly great on the ERA, but it makes it seem as if he has been pitching alright

Relax everyone. Danks is a fifth starter making his what start. He is going go have nights where he is good and some where he is bad. Everyone forgets El Duque and how he wasnt exactly lights out all the time. A young 5th starter isnt going to be nails every f***ing time out.

Danks has pitched much better than his ERA indicates. However, with the likelihood of struggles when the ball starts jumping, he has his work cut out for him to have a respectable ERA this year.

Every fastball Danks throws is thigh high. He has to get that ball down.
