ok lets say fields is doing awesome and is turning out to be a great major league player, but crede comes off the DL. do they send fields back down, or send cintron down?

 

 

well I dont think we could trade Crede, at least for anything good, with his current back situation. I think Cintron should be let go or sent down. If his D was great, id like to keep him, but its not.

Fields will play against left handed pitchers and Cintron will play against right handed pitchers, because Ozzie things righties hit lefties and lefties hit righties. But Ozzie is wrong. In fact, I bet most lefties today (Moyer, Buehrle, Glavine) all pitch better against righties because of their changeup.

 

 

Fields will play 80% of the time, there's no other reason to bring him up, they could just use someone like Thomas Perez.

Yeah, I was just about to mention that. The White Sox played pretty damn well in the 1st few months of the season, it's just that the Tigers came out on a tear. No one said that there was a World Series hangover, but it did catch up to them in the 2nd half for sure.

 

This season is turning out much like 2006 and 2005, but with different teams.

 

2005:

White Sox start off on a tear.

Twins trail most of the year.

Indians go on huge 2nd half run.

 

2006:

Tigers start off on a tear.

White Sox trail most of the year.

The fatigue could also go a long way towards explaining the injuries.

This is honestly a blessing in disguise. Crede's a great hitter but he's obviously been in pain since August of last year. Why he didn't have the surgery? Who knows.... Fields will impact the team imediatley IMO.

1.) Why would they trade Michael Young just a few months after giving him a huge extension?

2.) Are you sure you want to deal for a 2B (yes he's a 2B) who's due $5M next year and then $16M per year for the next 5 seasons after that? He's also lighting the world on fire with his .269/.318/.408/.726 line. No thanks.

3.) Considering how things went the first time around I highly doubt Lofton will ever play for the Sox again.

I liked him last year when he was up, and he has learned a bit more patience. He has also been raking. Come on Josh!!

I agree that Young wouldn't come here because of the extension, but this is by FAR the worst year of his career. He's had 6 straight 200 hit seasons (IIRC... someone might want to double check me but I know it's a string of them) and I sure as hell would put my money down on a guy like that then the rest of the choke artists we have on the Sox right now.

 

Michael Young is a damn good ballplayer, this year's stats notwithstanding.
