The Cardinals have left a man on 3rd base now in 5 of the 6 innings. I wonder which Cubs player will hit the go-ahead homer tonight?

Probably one of the seven 115 lb secondbaseman they have.

Here comes the rally started by another error on the opposition. Spiezio just misplayed an easy grounder about as bad as possible.

Cards win. :)

Never would have thought that 4 runs would be enough after that early start. All things considered, the Brewers being 1 out right now isn't that bad.

Man the Cardinals are dissapointing me more than the Sox this year. Not sure why, but I thought they'd catch fire in Sept.

I think you really need to put money on the Cubs to win the World Series. That would seem to be a no lose situation for you.

Mark Mulder is lighting up the radar guns at 82 or 83 mph right now. I can't believe the Cardinals rushed him back from the minors for this. And just like that, Murton hits a 3 run homer off the foul pole, a few pitches after he should have been called out on strike 3.

Update: So Pujols has missed two different 3 run homers by a few feet today. Aaron Miles is trying to make my all-hated team as well. It's just one of those years.

Pedro Martinez has proven me wrong. He has been absolutely amazing.

David Weathers looks just awful. I don't think the Reds have a chance to hold on.

f***ing unreal....Hopper should have easily caught that ball. The Cubs are the luckiest team ever. How in the hell are you not playing "no doubles" there?

There were no doubles given up.

It's funny how long it takes the Cubs announcers to figure out that should have been caught. Reds should have just kept Burton in the game and groom him as their closer of the future.

I hate the Cubs......... and Len Casper.

I love walking the pinch hitter to get to the guy who's 4/4 on the day. He's bound to make an out sometime, right?

I hate the Cubs too. Down 2 in the 9th and end up winning. The Brewers need to stay hot.

So there's a base open....why in the f*** don't you walk the guy who's 4-4 on the day? Pinella's not a great manager, but compared to the rest of the loser managers in that division, he's a genius.

Yeah, it looked like he underestimated his own speed and over dove. I can't tell if he even needed to try and dive for that.

If he takes a good angle, it should have been a pretty routine catch. I still want to know, why in the hell aren't the outfielders playing deeper in that situation?

I have nightmares thinking about the crowd outside of Wrigley field the last time they made the playoffs. I just hope they face the Padres in the first round, as the DBacks continue to struggle and Webb is mortal.

Hehe.

Just fire Ned Yost now and take Brewers fans out of their misery. Sheets looked just awful last Friday, so he brings him back on 3 days rest. One inning into tonight's game, and he got pulled already.

What a cheap hit by Jones to score 2 on a huge 2 out rally as Harang had been cruising. I have no idea why they were shading Jones so much up the middle.

Somebody here recently was very accurate when they compared Sheets to Mark Prior.
