Josh Fields named A.L. Player of the Week.

Featured Replies

Very deserving, congrats to him!

Very impressive numbers for the rookie. I can't wait to see what he can do over a full season in LF for the Sox.

Are we sure it's offensive player? I opened it, skimmed, saw Javier Vazquez was also considered for the award, closed it and then said, "Huh?"

I am mistaken... It is A.L. Player of the Week. Would someone please correct that for me?

Way to go kid. Looking forward to seeing Josh on our team for years to come. :bringit

Sadly, this is like the 3rd or 4th best memory I'll have of the Chicago White Sox 2007 season.

Oh come on man, in terms of individual stuff, we've at least got Mark's no-no, Thome's 500, Jenks's 41 consecutive batter streak, so that's at least 3 others.

congrats josh!

Kudos to Fields.

He's been a definite bright spot.

Now if they can just find a position for him where he doesn't cost us run after run.

Awesome, I can't help but wonder when the last time a white sox rookie won even a small award like this was.

A great bright spot on a struggling team. I hope this leads to other things.

Congratulations to Josh. If we cut cut the strike outs down to about 1 out of 5Abs instead of 1 in 3, he is going to be dangerous. If he makes contact, the ball jumps off of his bat. The kid has 50 homer potential.

well, I guess we cant say we havent had a rookie come up and make a contribution

I said 3rd or 4th best. So basically after those 3 things you mentioned, it's 4th best. What I said was true.

(Sadly, I just realized that it slipped my mind that the Buehrle no-hitter was this year. It happened at the end of the school year, and this whole season's been so long and crappy, that I forgot it was in 2007).

Still though, it's like the 4th best thing to happen to this team this year...unless you count Buehrle re-signing, then it's 5th.

IMO, that 6 run 9th inning comeback, although meaningless, was pretty cool as well

Kudos Josh.

very nice, congrats!!!

THE FUSE IS LIT!

:headbang

Congrats Josh, that is impressive for a rookie. I can't wait to see what he can do for us next season!
