According to general manager Bill Smith, Pat Neshek is expected to miss at least three months and may be sidelined for the remainder of the season with a partially torn ulnar collateral ligament.

Smith said that Neshek won't be allowed to throw for at least three months and added that getting him healthy in time for spring training is the Twins' current goal. Losing Neshek is a huge blow to the Twins' bullpen, as he's gone 11-5 with a 2.91 ERA and 142/37 K/BB ratio in 120 2/3 career innings. Matt Guerrier and Juan Rincon will split setup duties in front of Joe Nathan.

That is a huge loss for the Twins. The guy has been a rock as a set up man.

Pronk appears to be one of many victims of the tough and somewhat legit drug testing policies instituted by major league baseball in the last few years. Just doesn't have that extra "juice" off the bat. He needs to call Geovany Soto and ask for some of his HGH.

I agree. Back when he was tearing it up in 2004-2006, i remember he was hitting homeruns on pitches that clearly looked like they were sawing him off, breaking his bat. Now they are just weak popups. Granted, he is still a good hitter, but not THAT good

Anyone else pumped that Jason Michaels is no longer in the AL?

Yeah, but we still play the Pirates later.

As. Cabrera just turned an unassisted triple play vs the Blue Jays. Indians are on the verge of a 4 game sweep vs the Blue Jays....thanks for nothing Toronto!

Cliff Lee's ERA is down to .70

This is the thing that kills about that series as the Blue Jays were handed those games. Later in the summer when everyone is b****ing and moaning because the Sox are playing Boston and New York while Minnesota and Cleveland are playing Texas and Baltimore there will be nobody to blame.

Pissing away games as this team has done will haunt them for the remainder of the year. The Twins have owned Boston over the weekend. The Sox seem to struggle in evey series. If the AL Central is good, the Sox have no chance as they will hang around .500 all season. Cleveland seems to be getting going. The Sox are now not scoring late any longer and have completely stagnated.

Wow, Detroit just got swept by KC, now 16-25. That equates to a 3% chance to make the playoffs.

C.C., Lee, Carmona, Westbrook, and Byrd/Laffey is a very good rotation the Indians will have in a month.

Who cares, fathom. The Tigers are going to go on a '27 Yankees like run and win the division by 10 games. Atleast that's what you said.

Tigers now 16-26, worst record in AL. They are 2-11 in their last 13 games (they started the season 2-10) and have already had 3 losing streaks of 5 games or more. Their playoff probability is down to 1.5%.

The Reds beat the Indians again today, with Adam Dunn hitting a 3 run walkoff vs Masa Kobayashi. The Indians bullpen is a serious issue, they have nobody back there that can nail down a save anymore.

Dunn's homer was so cheap

This is much funnier now that I have seen the replay

Cliff Lee has given up 4 runs, 3 earned (I believe), in 5 innings. Normally this wouldn't be news, but this year it is worth noting.

As long as it equates to a Cleveland loss.

Cinci up 6-2 now

6-4 now. Affeldt doing his best job to lose the game. Cleveland only has the 8th and 9th. Hopefully Cincy can hang on.

Reds games are pretty fun to watch. I still wish Sox would have traded Garland for the Franchise, Brandon Phillips.

Just think how much better we would be with Phillips compared to OCab.

Cincy just closed out a 6-4 victory vs Cleveland. Indians are now 22-22 and were just swept by the Reds.

The Reds are starting to hit, and with as improved as their pitching has been all year, they are better than their rapidly improving record suggests.

If only they could trade Griffey Jr. for some legit talent. Bruce needs to be in the majors. I'd be even higher on the Reds if I thought Homer Bailey would pan out.

Griffey will be traded as soon as he hits a hot streak (aka hits his 600th home run) and Bruce will be called up. They have to figure out a way to give Dunn a long term contract too. The Reds will probably be much better in 2010 than 2008, but they have easily the 2nd most talented team in that divison, and the best starting rotation by far.
