That's why you don't get paid to make those calls...

I stand corrected. Normally being 10+ points behind with over 50% reporting is hard to overcome. but I didnt know that large portions of St louis and KC had not reported.

yep, Obama wins MO.

crazy...

hopefully she can have a solid win in CA though it's prolly not likely

Yup, only Obama counties left to report in Missouri.

Wow, a lot of news agencies have been really tentative about projections, and it looks like Reuters and others are going to be wrong about Mizzou, unless Clinton gets a late boost.

Fox News projects Clinton and McCain winners in Cali.

I'm surprised Clinton won Cali by so much.

The number will narrow. But how much it will narrow will be interesting.

So at this point in the night, what should I be paying attention to -- how much Obama can close the gap in California?

maybe. Total Delegate Count seems to be more important. but we wont know that until tomorrow. so, for the next few hours... CA.

What's a good result for Obama in terms of how much he can narrow the gap in California to?

Say 6% or so, would Obama be ahead in delegates if he only lost by that much?

My guess is yes.

tonight's a win for obama, any way you slice it. he did much better than expected and that's the best he could have hoped for. it's gonna be tougher for Hillary moving forward....

hmmm..... according to reports on MSNBC in the Romeny campaign, he is going to have "frank discussions" about the future of his campaign. I think he's out by this weekend.

Huckabee... the little engine that could?

mmmmm.... my lady Nora is back on MSNBC. yum.

I'm surprised they haven't called Missouri for Obama yet. Boone is the only county left and it's going overwhelmingly for Obama.

Methinks McCain taking Cali is an all but official knockout blow for Romney when you consider how well Huckabee did tonight and McCain coming back late to get Missouri. I also saw nothing to change my mind that Huckabee might be the running mate for McCain. As for the democrat side........it's all about Cali, but if Obama can close the gap there, he had a hell of a night. Obviously, the longer the race goes, the more trouble Hillary will have with Barack.

McCain/Huckabee ticket scares the s*** out of me... that thing could really win in Nov.

Huckabee could make it moderately interesting with McCain if Romney drops out, but not all the states (in fact, not many in terms of those with major delegate counts), have the conservative base to overpower McCain that the southern ones Huckabee did tonight do. I think McCain locked up the nomination tonight.

And the ONLY thing Republicans seem to agree on right now is how important it is to get an electable ticket, so I could really see it happening, especially with the lack of bad things Huckabee has had to say about McCain and vise versa.

Finally got to my hotel room here. Very tired.

But, looks like either a good night for Obama. Was a great night, until California. But, with only 16% reporting, I wouldn't put a ton of stock in that one yet. Where the vote actually ends up will determine a lot. By my read, Obama won the night outside Cali. So he needs to hope to stay close there - so that he can make the day near even.

MSNBC calls MO as the apparent winner for Obama

Larry King is snorting like a freaking pig...stop dude.

MSNBC is about to break down the delegate count for tonight.

Chuck Todds breakdown (NM and CA not included)...

Obama - 659

Clinton - 623

If Hillary wins BIG in CA....

Obama - 841

Clinton - 837

So, OBAMA wins tonight!

The next six contests are said to favor Obama. CNN let the cat out of the bag and said Clinton is wanting to debate weekly because money is becoming in short supply for them.
