illinois finds more ways to lose than any team i have ever seen.

indiana played hard, congrats on a tough win.

mccamey was the best player on the floor tonight. great effort from him.

Typical Illinois loss, and Pruitt will not be missed. It's good to see the progress from McCamey though, as he'll of course be a junior when the '09 guys arrive and a senior when Jereme and Crandall show up, and of course it's big he develops since the one weakness in those 2 classes is none of the guys are true point guards.

 

And I'm glad Eric Gordon isn't coming to Champaign again, that was sad/embarassing to watch at times.

Congrats on beating one of the worst BCS teams in the nation twice in games you could have lost, want a cookie? Give me a break, trash talking at a 10-14 (2-9) team, lol.

 

As for the Gordons........I'm sure stuff was done towards them that was out of line, but they were amazingly stupid to even go to this game. They'll have the rest of the year, NCAA Tournament, and 10 years in the NBA to watch him, and they should have assumed the worst going into an atmosphere of delusional, frusterated fans. I'm surprised the fans behaved as well as they did, I thought it would be even more lame.

And yeah, Illinois fans have been deluisional fools about the Gordon thing because it hides the real problem, which is Bruce Weber is an embarassingly bad coach. You know that as well as I do, but if your going to stoop to the level of most Illinois fans on this subject, that's your problem. It's not like you beat a team that's worth a damn.

Well then I guess I should apologize for being happy that my team won a game which I figured they would not fair to well with all emotions involved. This was Illini's super bowl like stated earlier and I definently did not have a good feeling about it. We won, I'm happy, so long.

You didn't think you'd beat a bad team? I know it was the Illini's Super Bowl, but their still bad. The problem tonight is Indiana really isn't that great a team, their just a decent team with 2 great players taking advantage of a horrid league.

And I never stated that Indiana was a great team. We have many flaws that can hopefully be worked out. And Bassett and Crawford stepped up big tonight, lets hope that continues. Also I don't think ILL is as bad as their record, if they could hit a damn FT down the stretch they could easily be above .500. I'm just looking at the positives ok?

Well it was. They have no shot at the NCAA's or NIT, so this was the biggest game of the year. And wow, reading the Illini fan boards.........I can see why IU fans are so confrentational this evening. It's a looney bin among most Illini hoops fans right now, no logic at all. It just AMAZES me most of all that fans can actually be so mad at Gordon, and miss who they should hate (Bruce Weber), for inheriting a great program and turning it into pure, unfiltered garbage.

Yea because the Illini fanbase and players have been just as rowdy and pumped up for this game just like any other. Give me a break, they wanted this game more than any other to date. ILL came ready to play for sure. Your freshman DM came to play and is going to be a star in a few more years.

What is going to kill IU is that their frontcourt outside of White is basically a joke. They have good guards and White is obviously a very good big man. THomas, Stemler, and Mike White are awful.

Um they have played the bottom feeders of the "horrid league" and barely gotten bye.

 

They still have to play MSU x2, OSU x2, WIS, PUR, Minnesota.

 

Those are the only teams besides Indiana that have an arguable chance at the NCAA tournament. If you notice, they have only played 2 games against those teams and gone 1-1 in those games.

 

Before we start saying how "horrid" the league is, lets see how Indiana fairs in the next stretch of games.
