Why oh why is Ozzie so scared to put on a hit-and-run with a slow hitter at the plate?

what i dont get is...ozzie is always b****ing about getting the right guys to run or hit and run with....yet when we get the ideal situation, with our fastest runner, and probably our best contact hitter up...ozzie doesnt do anything...i know martinez has been better throwing guys out lately but still he used to be brutal, he cant all of a sudden be irod back there

cookie to Dye, pop up.

I love that the only guy that can hit the low and away breaking ball is Quentin.

Byrd's got nothing today...no command of his "stuff". Sadly, only one run thru 3 innings.

18 pitches in the first inning for byrd.....and then 18 over the next two ...UGH

HBP...Javy's curve is very weird today, as he's throwing it a lot slower than usual. If I didn't know better, I would guess he has a sore shoulder.

delluci leaned into that WTF

get masset up...its clear javy has nothing

javy's not long for this game

Javy simply didn't show up tonight. Get Masset up in the pen.

I don't know what that pitch is. Everything else is flat and he's shaking off AJ a lot. I'd say he has no confidence in any pitch tonight.

f***ing rollers through the IF....every strike javy has thrown has been on the heart of the plate...its been a long time since ive seen him look this bad

Well, it appears Javy is on his D game tonight, we better take better advantage of the hits on Byrd

Well...nice defense there.

Something obviously isn't 100 pct with Vazquez. You can tell by his loopy curve and the fact he's getting no extension or arm action on the change-up. HOPEFULLY, it's just a dead arm.

im not too worried about injury...hes always had that loopy curve but rarely uses it ...i think hes just searching for something he has command of...i think he just doesnt have it tonight, thats all

Scott Kazmir has K'd 7 of first 9 hitters he's faced tonight. We'll see him this weekend, along with Cy Sonnanstine, Edwin Jackson, and someone else.

Still in this game! Sox need to get some momentum back.

lucky to get out of that only down 1

that could've been worse.

rick manning nailed it on the head - Javy's not getting ahead like he did last week.

Wow...I thought he crushed that. Thome is now below .200. Please don't play him against Laffey tomorrow.

Javy's playing with fire today, lets hope we can get a few more IP out of him and then hand it over to the pen.

Wow...I thought he crushed that also! Sad to see how much power these guys have lost.

thome now hitting .199
