June 5, 200817 yr QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jun 5, 2008 -> 02:06 PM) anybody know what's up with Matt Bush, the first pick in '04 by San Diego? I believe he was a Bust at SS... so the Pads moved him to P. He now has a torn ligament in his elbow and is out until next year. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matt_Bush Edited June 5, 200817 yr by JDsDirtySox
June 5, 200817 yr I like Beckham so I have no issues. Would have loved Posey though. Either way, excited to have a guy like Beckham in the Sox system. Even after drafting Beckham, I still want Crawford (SS) from UCLA. I have a strategy of drafting boatloads of SS's because they are the best athletes out there and can always be converted to other positions. I'd also be thrilled if Danks fell, THRILLED.
June 5, 200817 yr Forgot to say this earlier. Beckham hit one of the hardest home runs against FSU that I have ever seen at Dick Howser. It was just a solid line drive that got out of the park in a hurry. Edited June 5, 200817 yr by chimpy2121
June 5, 200817 yr QUOTE (OilCan @ Jun 5, 2008 -> 03:16 PM) quick question....are they only doing round 1 today and the rest tomorrow??? I believe today is Rounds 1 and 2 (including the sandwich picks between).
June 5, 200817 yr Author ESPN will stop f***ing things up at 6 PM ET and after that the draft will be done by conference call until 9 PM ET.
June 5, 200817 yr Melville still out there, wow. I was scared until he got past the Red Sox and Yankees. Hopefully he ends up at UNC now.
June 5, 200817 yr Well, so long for Kelly coming to UT. The Red Sox will play him a ton and he'll forgo college, I'm sure...
June 5, 200817 yr Damn, so the Twins got Shooter... They've added some pretty solid guys in the draft so far.
June 5, 200817 yr QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jun 5, 2008 -> 03:06 PM) Krasik > Selig I was thinking the same thing.
June 5, 200817 yr I wish this thing moved quick, like the old conference call. That was a little too quick, but this isn't much better. It sounds like I'm lucky I'm at work as opposed to watching ESPN. If they were smart, they'd have all of the BA guys, plus Kyle Peterson and others who follow the college ranks. Singleton/Phillips aren't going to know much. Gammons adds value because he has his sources and can probably dig out some good dirt.
June 5, 200817 yr QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Jun 5, 2008 -> 03:07 PM) Sox don't have aother pick until round 3 right? Correct
June 5, 200817 yr QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Jun 5, 2008 -> 02:07 PM) Sox don't have aother pick until round 3 right? Correct. I don't even know if the 3rd round will be done today. If it isn't, I'll be writing something up indicating some of the guys who slid in the draft that the Sox should be looking at.
