Fantastic game MB!!!!!!! :headbang :gosoxretro:

Mark is on Fire!!!

Lets start a streak!

Depending on what happens in San Diego, this could be a pretty perfect day of baseball. :headbang

Beautiful outing from Buehrle.

And how about some props for Wise? Hopefully BA stays parked on the bench.

The boys really flashed some leather tonight. Alexei and OC were taking hits away all night.

Needed that one bad, and Mark is really on a roll right now. This series is setup for us to do really well. They've got a couple talented young guys pitching the next two days, but so do we and ours are more experienced. We should AT LEAST get 2 out of 3.

Thanks for nothing Trevor Hoffman. Worst case scenario is we gained a game on Tigers, I'll take that!

And the Tribe.

You can't really fall out of the race in this division, but the 2008 Tribe looks a lot like the 2006 Tribe.

That was about as enjoyable game as you can see in person. Buerhle was superb and the offense came up clutch late in the game (after failing to knock the Dodgers out early in the game). Lowe did pitch very well though and for the most part the Sox had a solid approach at the plate.

Again, Buehrle was spectacular. I was just comfortable the entire game. Dye crushed that ball. One significant thing to note, I was watching BP and noticed BA was working specifically on going CF/RF and only pulled about 3 of the 20 or so BP hits he had. I thought that was nice to see (he was hitting it pretty solid as well). Pablo was just crushing liners and is really looking like his old self offensively (which is pretty valuable because Pablo for the first two years with the Sox was one hell of an average hitter).

Random sidenote, what happened with Crede? He was warming up as if he was going to start and than towards the very end Pablo was out there (was it an injury or was he never supposed to start?).

Just got back from the game. Alexei's play was f***ing sexy.

Buehrle sucks, can't even get a shut out.... :P

Right before JD's home run my buddy says "Hit it to that Sharp sign in Right" haha

Sonava b**** Gage, you were there?

Should have texted you!

great night at the ravine - lots of sox fans on hand. Kudos to the crowd in left field who started several "let's go white sox" chants.

I'm just pissed those Cubs games were worth way more than this series is.

Really is a shame

Tony, some of us don't like losing to the f***ing Cubs? You can't understand that? If not, why not? It's going to be the same next weekend for many of us. We are going to want wins desperately and will be elated if we win and pissed as hell if we tank again like last weekend.

Nice win tonight.

Mark B more often than not is a stud.

Dye will probably be our lone all-star since we'll get jobbed of two guys unless Bobby makes it.

Man, is Wise a decent player after all? Didn't see the game on TV here. Does he have a true clue at the plate?

Crede's back flares up, yuk. Is Josh healthy yet? Could be DL time for Joe or not?

So nice to halt for now the road losing streak and win so soon after the Cub debacle.

GO SOXX!

I had the same question - he was announced at the start of the game and even listed on the scoreboard briefly.

Good game from Mark and from the team overall. Shame it doesn't matter because we got swept by the Cubs.

Obviously sample size, but if it ain't broke... I actually find myself more nervous recently when some of our other guys step up to the plate.

Wise sucks. I can't believe some of you people think he's good.

That's fine, but every game still counts just the same. A win tonight is no more or less relevant than a win this weekend is, and that is his very correct point.

As for those asking in this thread, Crede was out with "back stiffness" tonight, I started at thread on it. And I still think Dewayne Wise is awful, but I hope I'm wrong.

Fair enough, White Sox.

But I think we know all games count the same.

I won't apologize for desperately wanting to fare well against the Cubs.

If you told me we can go 0-6 versus them and win the division, I'd say bring on the 0-6.

You can't guarantee that however.

All games count the same but when we're playing the Cubs I don't think it's unreasonable for people to realize many Sox fans badly want to beat them like Baltimore had no problem doing tonight.

I don't think anyone's penciling him into CF for the next 3 years, merely that he's off to a nice start for the Sox. He was hitting the ball pretty damn well in Charlotte too so there's a little something to this. Not .360, but a decent bat, decent pop, and decent glove.

It's called civic pride. Some of hate going to work and hearing it from the Cub fans.

And pretty good speed as well. He obviously isnt a long term answer, but for a short term plug-in, if he's hot we might as well ride it out as long as we can.

When they didn't score in the 4th with men on second and third with nobody out, I thought we were doomed. Turns out JD finally broke out of his slump vs. Lowe and launched his 17th homer. I think he might have another 2006 type of year, he is really heating up. Tied for the lead in homers on the team now.

BTW, is Javier Vazquez still the best pitcher on the White Sox now? After what Buehrle's done in the past couple of starts, I think he's back to the old Mark Buehrle.

Vasquez is no where near the best pitcher on this team right now. IN his last three or four starts hes been terrible. He lost his control and is leaving the ball up way too much. Id say the best starters right now are Marky Mark and Dankmaster Flex. Also good to see Linebrink not give up a walkoff homer tonight :lolhitting

When we got Dye he had a pretty proven record of slow starts and heating up in summer. With us he's been more consistent but knowing that when we signed him I haven't been too worried of a Dye slow start. (even though I don't feel he had that poor of a start this year)

Slow start? The first week or 2 of the season he stormed out of the gate, his timing was thrown off with his minor injury but he got it back. Now, it's not like 2006, but it's close.
