I didn't like the idea of Danks/Floyd.

i dont know how to say this...but any other year and we woulda lost this game and started a losing streak...we stole neg momo and turned tonight into a win. VERY NICE!

Oh come on, I'm sure there were worse things said than that!!!! Someone I work with is friends with Danks, and some of the stories about him are crazy. He's a good kid.

I wasn't so upset about that trade, I was more confused as to why he'd trade Garcia to make room for McCarthy, which I understood, then trade McCarthy after all that hype. I eventually settled down and figured it was just a lateral trade and that Danks would be as good as McCarthy would've been. I was wrong, but not for the reasons I thought I'd be.

I am actually for this deal for a different reason and its because of some inside stuff I know about the situation. Danks is a studly prospect (definately the caliber of McCarthy, although not as developed so there is a risk with that) and Massett is a very good looking young reliever.

The inside information related to personal agenda's on McCarthy's end and within the Sox organization, that were bound to result in a nasty ending between Bmac & the Sox.

Yep, I totally agree with this. One of the reasons it was such a shock is we waited so long for McCarthy to be in the rotation, and we had started to pencil him in. Then, I wake up in the morning (was in Christmas Eve or New Year's?), and it's the lead story on rotoworld.

It's sure fun to see Paulie bat when he whips it around and dings it into the first couple rows of the lf bleachers.

Wouldn't mind hearing some of the Danks and BMAC stories..

I'm not going ot lie fathom. I just went through about 20 pages and you were the one hammering the deal more than almost anyone. Although in general, I was one of the only people actually supporting the move and it had to do with having inside info. That and I liked the idea of getting two good arms for 1.

Thome's bat speed is gone. He is done. He is the worst hitter in baseball.

 

for what its worth: in 55 postseason games Jim Thome has a .229 ave (43-188).

I think its a blessing no White Sox pitcher is in the ASG. Let them rest. I just hope Danks can keep it up in the second half. It soon will be territory he's never been in innings-wise, and he's going to have to be sharp.

I'm surprised Danks is in. I'd have shut him down and called it a first half of the season. He's been absolutely tremendous the past couple weeks though (getting deep into games and giving up very few runs). After this start, I'm calling him the biggest snub of the All Star Game.
