What did C.J. Wilson do?

Last time he pitched vs the Sox, he got knocked around a little but still managed the save and showed a bunch of emotion. Ozzie thought he was showing the team up.

 

Today, he gave up a 400 foot HR to Q.

I liked what I seen out of Richard today; looked pretty good against a hot hitting rangers team with a defense that dropped the ball behind him(pun intended) in his FIRST major league start, ideally i would love too see 2 more starts from him before i render a decision. i liked his pick off move and the fact his change up just drops.

So I was at Yankee Stadium today to see the Twins lose in person, then to find out later the Sox win. Good times.

 

Yankee Stadium is a dump, btw. An old, historic dump, but now that I've been there I can see why they're tearing it down.

You live in the city? I was there last night sitting in the bleachers. The guy 1 seat over had a retro Sox jersey on and we were loving it as the Yanks were pouring it on the Twins' bullpen. Got to make fun of some kids wearing Cubs jerseys too, just good natured stuff as they were about 7 or 8 years old.

 

 

I don't think it's a dump, I've been to 4 games so far this year (and about 6-7 overall since I moved here) and all in all I think it's just an average ball park (for people living in the city the access to public transportation is rediculously good, I can take the D train 60 minutes from my apt in Brooklyn and be there), but the history is just unrivaled.

 

That said, Yankee stadium has really changed for the worse. The whole thing is to encourage families (who will be buying lots of concessions) to come to the game. No booze in the bleachers, and quite a few sections in the nosebleeds as well. But the hardcore fans really are knowledable and get into the game, like standing and cheering on all 2 strike 2 out counts, going wild when the Yankes chase a pitcher, and generally staying till the last out.

 

 

I'll be going back when the Sox come into town in September, got a couple hard core Yanks fans coming with me, should be a good time with both teams in the race.

 

If any of you guys plan on going to that series let me know and I can recommend some things to do while in the city, etc.

The park has lots of personality and history, but its age definitely shows, and it looks like a dump compared to modern ballparks like Camden Yards, the Cell, etc. The concessions are overpriced "meh" and the sight lines/seats are awful. It's no wonder they're tearing it down.

 

I will say whatever stereotype people have about Yankee fans from ESPN and the internet probably isn't true though. I mean there are those who meet the stereotype b/c of the sheer size of the fanbase but most of them are actual baseball fans.

If yankees make playoffs A-Rod will win no doubt...it is a popularity contest and CQ is still fairly unknown. Or it will go to hamilton with all the media love he has gotten this year. CQ would really need to turn it on the last two months to leave no doubt. Lets just win the division though, eh!

IMO, we have to go atleast 5-5 on this road-trip- win 1 in Detroit, 2 in Minnesota, and 2 in KC. Although, winning 2/3 in Detroit and 3/3 in KC is possible. But we HAVE to win 2 in Minnesota at the least.

lol@the Juan Uribe marry me signs shown on the broadcast. Richard showed some flashes, nice to see Thome drive one deep, and not much more can be said about Quentin. This was a game where if it would come down to the last strike in the bottom of nine, I'd still feel safe in assuming we could come back. Luckily it didn't, and I can happily blame cigarettes and alcohol for the years shorn of the end of my life instead of the White Sox.

This was another one of those games that we had no business winning, that somehow we pulled out of our asses and won. Tacking the extra game onto the lead, and not giving the Tigers another game gained in the standings is huge, especially as we head up to Detroit for the weekend.

I'll agree with them. The seats are tiny and I felt cramped. I do like the overall charm. It's hard to hate on the unique dimensions and the green monster. Too bad the fans are annoying as heck but you gotta give them credit for being die hard. When I went I might have been the only person not wearing a Red Sox jersey or cap.

Its funny to me that people complain about the cream pies in the face.

There is a good chance the whipped cream pies were made but Hall (and possibly Uribe) ate them and replaced with shaving cream.
