So, how are we to judge the Linebrink signing for this season?

Linebrink needs to be shut down. You cannot use him in close games.

One team faces the best pitcher in the AL and scores 4. The other team faces a guy with a 9 ERA who has 70 pitches by the 3rd inning and scores 1.

 

 

On the lighter side of things , the same guy that caught the Giambi HR Yesterday caught the 1st HR this inning not the one AROD just hit.

You have failed us Cliff Lee. Honestly I'm not surprised, this race will go down to the last few days. The Twins will keep fighting back until the end of it.

i almost like our odds better at 5-1 than at 4-1...at least we might not start the inning with rivera...and maybe we can load em up by the time he comes in and someone leans into one

Linebrink being seriously injured has been obvious for about 6 weeks now. The Sox treated hit like the Soviets treated whether Andropov or Chernenko were dead -- nah, nothing wrong here, but we just won't talk about it, and you won't see the guy for weeks, and everything's fine.

Linebrink's looking like Josh Hamilton's high school coach at the home run derby.

haha its a bad signing...even when he was dealing i said it was bad...you just dont give middle relievers 4 year deals for 20 mil for the very reasons we are seeing right now

Without Linebrink before he got hurt, we would be seeing Jerry Owens and Josh Fields playing everyday. We would see Mike MacDougal and Erin Wasserman pitching almost every day, we would see Horacio Ramirez nightly because these games would be meaningless.................oh wait......................

Agreed, the September call-up situation has been so damn frustrating. I really feel like I'm watching a different game than everyone else, as the decision making has been horrible (IMO).
