Whisler got sent down for Contreras. the Poreda call up hasn't been officially announced.

Then I'm 99% sure its Gobble going down, unless some trade happened that we aren't aware of.

For Whom, what exactly is going on?

I wish he could try speaking English :lolhitting

Well we really are punting on this season. Oh well, hopefully Aaron does well.

We are really going for it this season. We are bringing up our best players arbitration clock be damned.

Is it me or does it feel like there is going to be some trades happening here really soon.

I think by Fields' comments he is expecting to be shipped out, and I wouldn't be surprised to see Kenny oblige him.

This team is really a mess right now, but I don't like bringing Poreda up without giving him lots of regular work - unless of course it is to showcase him for a trade that brings us a top-end starter.

Yep, and I can't wait.

If it's Gobble that gets released, then I am going to really miss that guy.

Please be Dan Haren.

Also Colon HAS to be going somewhere.

They sure as hell won't release him or move him to the bullpen. Makes me wonder if he's involved in a trade or if someone else is leaving. I'd be disappointed if it's for Gobble, especially because I don't mind Gobble in his current role.

I like it, I think I'd be willing to take Chris Young and have his bat in the lineup every day if it meant that Haren was in our rotation

Wow, this is part 2 of the future is now movement.

What happened to the good ol' days when guys announced there call ups on myspace?

The Buffet Line

I really like his confidence too. “I ain’t never going back.” Anyone think we might get one of those crap Aardsma package for Colon?

Miguel Socolovich supposedly has a pretty nice arm. He's in W-S right now as a reliever (convered IF I believe) but is having control issues. If we get another guy like him I wouldn't mind. Something better would be great, but if just getting out of his contract frees up another $0.50 to put into the late rounds of the draft I'd be very happy.

My signature would like you all to eat your hearts out. Personally, I can't get enough of CR/AP.

too many spam friend invites

Interesting timing to say the least.

I'd expect something to happen with Colon or even Clayton Richard if we're talking about acquiring a Dan Haren type of pitcher here.

Chris Young has an OPS of .547 right now also. You'd certainly be buying low on him that's for sure.

QUOTE (Sox1422 @ Jun 9, 2009 -> 07:40 AM)
Viciedo is hitting .286 now and is on fire. Danks is the hottest hitter in the organization. It's not like Danks is a spring chicken. Dude turns 23 in August.

Two points...

1. It's only AA. Don't forget that Jerry Owens led that league in hitting one year. (And Fields raked in AAA). So Danks and Viciedo are looking promising but doing well in AA doesn't mean they should be brought up.

2. Danks is no spring chicken?? Because he turns 23 in August??? His age is not a problem and shouldn't be an issue. We need to develop this kid properly because he could be our CF for the next 10 years. Don't screw him up by bringing him up before he's ready.

Edited by scenario

There is no way the Sox get Dan Haren. Let's just put that one to rest.

Because?

Arizona isn't exactly setting the world on fire at the moment. They're last in the AL West and with the Dodgers playing well they don't have much of a chance to contend this season.

Josh Byrnes could decide to reload, and they've got quite a few early picks in this season's draft IIRC.

Not saying it's going to happen, but you just can't rule it out and say it's definitely not.

I presume the rotation will involve this list of characters: Buehrle, Floyd, Danks, Contreras, Poreda.

The White Sox could be trading a reliever. Everyone needs them and teams will overpay. Hawk and Stone were talking about it the other day saying teams would have to pay double to get a good reliever. Maybe they were hinting at something.
