Gov. Palin Resigns (Quits)

Here's at least one possible scandal guess.

Many political observers in Alaska are fixated on rumors that federal investigators have been seizing paperwork from SBS in recent months, searching for evidence that Palin and her husband Todd steered lucrative contracts to the well-connected company in exchange for gifts like the construction of their home on pristine Lake Lucille in 2002. The home was built just two months before Palin began campaigning for governor, a job which would have provided her enhanced power to grant building contracts in the wide open state.

SBS has close ties to the Palins. The company has not only sponsored Todd Palin's snowmobile team, according to the Village Voice's Wayne Barrett, it hired Sarah Palin to do a statewide television commercial in 2004.

Though Todd Palin told Fox News he built his Lake Lucille home with the help of a few "buddies," according to Barrett’s report, public records revealed that SBS supplied the materials for the house. While serving as mayor of Wasilla, Sarah Palin blocked an initiative that would have required the public filing of building permits—thus momentarily preventing the revelation of such suspicious information.

Just months before Palin left city hall to campaign for governor, she awarded a contract to SBS to help build the $13 million Wasilla Sports Complex. The most expensive building project in Wasilla history, the complex cost the city an addition $1.3 million in legal fees and threw it into severe long-term debt. For SBS, however, the bloated and bungled project was a cash cow.

And what have you done to disprove that you aren't a socialist, fascist, homophobe? Proving that you aren't something is impossible.

Exactly.... but Obama is still the devil.

The funny thing is that if it is really the continued pressures of being one of the main targets of the national democrats, they just screwed themselves, because Palin winning the GOP nomination would have been the best possible thing to ever happen to them winning again in 2012.

lol believe me the average liberal knows this, just read Huffpo comments.

As south park clearly stated... if it wasn't for us pro-war people, America would be viewed as a bunch of pussies.

However, as south park also stated, if it wasn't for you anti-war people, America would be viewed as a bunch of mad, gun crazy assholes.

It actually is a perfect balance.

Quit saying things that make sense, this isn't the BearSox I know.

Mitt Romney will be like Buster Douglass in 2012.

Gaining weight up to 400 lbs and eventually pleading guilty to allowing one of his brothers to apply for a motorcycle drivers' license using his ID?

This is true. Anyone thinking that Obama or the Dems wanted this, needs to think it through. They would have loved to run against Palin, who has zero appeal for independents outside of Alaska.

Palin 2012=Mondale 1984

I don't mean to insinuate anything, but part of me was thinking when she announced her resignation, that this had something to do with Sanford in SC.

Palin was the girl in Argentina? Interesting.

Unless you are gay and want to get married or a woman who needs an abortion, then it's not.

Yeah, every woman who gets an abortion needed it... and civil unions are sooooo much differant than marriage.

You plan to have a civil union with your girlfriend instead of a marriage?

Put me down for one of the people who wouldn't want her being the R candidate in 2012. I don't care if she'd likely lose in a landslide, the fact that the is part of the 50/50 that COULD win scares the s*** out of me. I'd rather have someone I'd hate and live with, than someone I'd be scared for my life with.

Bill Kristol on Fox is trying to spin this into a positive for her. Shrewd political move and all. "Just saw the opening of the 2012 campaign"

Wouldn't it be incredibly easy to beat her over the head for abandoning her elected post?

Of course Fox News are going to spin this into a positive, it's what they do best.

Let's have Bristol take over.

And if Palin is running in 2012, well the Republicans have no shot.

The only way she is going to look credible if she does, is if she actually knows what she's talking about, and well I don't ever see that happening to be frank.

Well Hillary Palin is the one that the Dems GOP wants to run. They have been salivating for four years to have her at the top of the ticket.

I know I was so annoyed whenever people would make the comment about all Dems love Hillary, etc.

Agreed, I'd rather have a choice I could live with.
