Flash/Web Developer. Trying to learn WordPress development at the moment, and not finding enough time.

One of the biggest reasons is probably because I don't stay on campus. Even if I did the dorms there suck.

 

There are a bunch of others though. I've always hated school. I really hate the homework. It takes up too much of my life. Lol, I can go on.

That seems to be the great divide when it comes to college. People that go away and live at school love it, have a great time, always miss it when they leave. People that go to school as commuters and such don't get the experience and see it as just regular ass school, which blows.

I go to school and I'm an IT Consultant. I hate school though so I can't wait to finish. A lot of people tell me I'll miss it... I don't see how though.

Same here brotha. But I commend you for at least finishing. I dropped out very early. Maybe someday I'll go back.

 

Umemployed as well, but hopefully soon to be security officer and perhaps an officer of the law (Cop/5-0/pig/etc..) in the near future. Though I'll have to go back to school for that..

I worked for Deloitte and now work for Apria in private accounting as well as dabbling in the finance side.

I'm with you on the hating school thing. I've got one more year left. I've hated it as long as I can remember. I don't go well with the whole school thing.

They mentioned something about my side job as an extreme Kaperbolist as the possible "reasons". Since that's an actual job, I feel this applies to the discussion at hand.

My background is in graphic design and advertising and I still do some freelance work.

 

Now I design and build the rooms you see in the IKEA Burbank showroom.

 

Sometimes, I take my work home.

I'm a little of a lot of things: editor, print/web designer, an auditor of sorts (boring job, too complicated to explain), but the most fun is baseball coach/instructor (I get paid to teach baseball, which is sweet). My goal is to expand on the latter. Plus the whole www.soxnet.net thing.

computer science. worked at IBM a long time, now basically coasting on that; working with mainframes to get data into server environments. lots of metadata stuff. oh cloud computing too, i like that.

Get as involved as possible with your local stations. An internship is ideal.

You are a dork. They've been out to get me for years. I'm paranoid now. (I need to go find that little noid from the old dominoes pizza commercials but I'm too lazy.

 

I've been unemployed for 4 months now.

 

Worked as an Operational Risk Specialist for Citi in NY for 12 months, and before that, worked as a Financial Analyst for Goldma Sachs for 2 and a half years.

 

Safe to say, things are pretty bad on the job front down here ATM.

What do you mean? The graduate degrees are at least more interesting. There are alot more work however.
