April 26, 201015 yr QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 25, 2010 -> 07:58 PM) Oh sweet redemption. Watch him pitch 8 innings of shutout ball against us, lol. That is what I fully expect to happen.
April 26, 201015 yr Another little tidbit apart from Willie Harris batting 3rd the other night. Ross Gload led off for the Phils yesterday.
April 26, 201015 yr Author QUOTE (Chi Town Sox @ Apr 26, 2010 -> 11:56 AM) Another little tidbit apart from Willie Harris batting 3rd the other night. Ross Gload led off for the Phils yesterday. That Phillies line up proves that either other world series winning managers are crazy, or Ozzie isn't as stupid as people think.
April 26, 201015 yr I wasn't aware of this until I saw the pitch f/x data, but Javy has lost nearly 3 MPH on his fastball this year.
April 26, 201015 yr QUOTE (Chi Town Sox @ Apr 26, 2010 -> 12:56 PM) Another little tidbit apart from Willie Harris batting 3rd the other night. Ross Gload led off for the Phils yesterday. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 26, 2010 -> 12:57 PM) That Phillies line up proves that either other world series winning managers are crazy, or Ozzie isn't as stupid as people think. That was one game. And Jimmy Rollins is currently on the DL. No comparison to what Ozzie has done so far.
April 26, 201015 yr QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 26, 2010 -> 01:01 PM) That was one game. And Jimmy Rollins is currently on the DL. No comparison to what Ozzie has done so far. Polanco, Francisco, Werth and Victorino could all possibly leadoff. Ross Gload shouldn't be leading off for a team like that Edit: Just seemed like a Sunday lineup then Edited April 26, 201015 yr by Chi Town Sox
April 26, 201015 yr Ryan Howard reportedly signs an extension with the Phillies. Ryan Howard signed a five-year extension with the Philadelphia Phillies on Monday. The team said the deal guarantees Howard $125 million over five years and could reach $138 million over six. Howard, a former National League Rookie of the Year and MVP, was scheduled to become a free agent after the 2011 season. CSNPhilly.com first reported the two sides were close to deal.
April 26, 201015 yr QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 26, 2010 -> 01:01 PM) That was one game. And Jimmy Rollins is currently on the DL. No comparison to what Ozzie has done so far. Yeah, it was just a lineup giving people some time off. Not that crazy to do occasionally. I do love me some Ross Gload.
April 26, 201015 yr Red Sox signed a 22 year old Cuban catcher today. Cubano's blog gets the shout out and credit for being the first to report the deal.
April 26, 201015 yr QUOTE (joejoedairy @ Apr 24, 2010 -> 12:18 AM) there are 3 guys in the nl who are 4-0 with eras of 1 or lower. ubaldo, hallady, and lincecum should be an interesting cy young race (my pick, halladay) There are now 4 guys in the NL who are 4-0 with ERAs of 1 or lower Ubaldo Jimenez Roy Halladay Tim Lincecum Mike Pelfrey (one of these things is not like the other, one of this things just doesn't belong)
April 26, 201015 yr QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Apr 26, 2010 -> 03:20 PM) There are now 4 guys in the NL who are 4-0 with ERAs of 1 or lower Ubaldo Jimenez Roy Halladay Tim Lincecum Mike Pelfrey (one of these things is not like the other, one of this things just doesn't belong) He only 2-1, but can almost throw Livan Hernandez on that list as well.
April 27, 201015 yr After winning 17-3 tonight the Brewers have now outscored the Pirates 53-4 in their 4 meetings this year. Edited April 27, 201015 yr by whitesoxfan99
April 27, 201015 yr QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Apr 26, 2010 -> 11:37 PM) After winning 17-3 tonight the Brewers have now outscored the Pirates 53-4 in their 4 meetings this year. Wow, so they were outscored 36-1 before tonight. That almost sounds worse than 53-4.
April 27, 201015 yr Saw this in a Yahoo article about fans getting hurt at games... "During spring training, Minnesota outfielder Denard Span lined a foul ball that hit his mother sitting in the stands near the Twins’ dugout." Geez. What are the odds of hitting your mother with a line drive during a game?
April 27, 201015 yr QUOTE (scenario @ Apr 27, 2010 -> 09:34 AM) Saw this in a Yahoo article about fans getting hurt at games... "During spring training, Minnesota outfielder Denard Span lined a foul ball that hit his mother sitting in the stands near the Twins’ dugout." Geez. What are the odds of hitting your mother with a line drive during a game? It was a million to one shot, doc... million to one.
April 27, 201015 yr Embarrassing series of throws in a game by Greg Zaun... Made me laugh. Thought I'd post it.
April 27, 201015 yr QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 27, 2010 -> 04:04 PM) Brett Anderson, Jorge de la rosa and Nelson Cruz all to the DL. Perfect Timing!
April 27, 201015 yr The moment SOMETHING didn't make sense in UZR, people have to go crazy and say "see, sabermetrics = invalid, ignorance FTW" The new improvements in UZR, which take positioning and park factor into account, has Jason Bay at a +2 instead of a -13 he was given last year. Due to this, some guy at the Boston Herald and Deadspin decided to say sabermetrics = invalid and that Jason Bay deserves some kind of an apology. Nice research done... Too bad his UZR in the past three years is like -30... http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/index.php/uzr-and-jason-bay/
April 28, 201015 yr http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news;_ylt=AjCu...ti-posada042710 Sit down with Jorge Posada talking about all the pitchers he's caught. I can't stand either team, but I always love these kinds of retrospective pieces. It's just a fun and exciting little read.
April 28, 201015 yr Is there any better evidence about how much the NL f***ing sucks than the success of Silva and Livan Hernandez this season?
April 28, 201015 yr Ubaldo Jimenez says f*** Lincecum and Halladay. Looks like he wants a piece of that CY. Edited April 28, 201015 yr by Jordan4life
