Jets pretty much have this one wrapped up but Greene shouldn't have scored on that last play. If he goes down at the 2 the game is over. Instead the Pats have a chance (albeit an incredibly small one) to win the game.

That being said, I was completely wrong on the Falcons this week. Solid week for me in my playoff pool though, 3-1, keeps me in 2nd place overall and only one point behind the leader.

The Steelers can maul the Jets. Sanchez can't step in and succeed versus their defense. At least Roethlisberger can throw the deep ball.

A good one. Seriously, I've underrated the Bears all season but Aaron Rodgers is just a f***in stud, I can't see even a defense as good as the Bears slowing him down right now.

I've just seen a lot of people say this the last few hours. Rodgers's domination of Atlanta is skewing a lot of people's perception of Green Bay. The Bears aren't the Falcons' s***ty overrated D.

but you also have to know that the bears are a great overall defense because of their rush defense (2nd ranked in the league) and their ability to force turnovers. the pass defense has been below average (20th in the league), and even Hasselback had a good game today. Lovie's defense is geared towards making solid tackles, not allowing big plays, blitzing, and forcing turnovers, they do not play to shut down the opposing receivers, and do not have the personnel to do so. IIRC opposing QBs are completing pass in a pretty high rate against the Bears pass defense.

 

with the way Rodgers is playing right now, you gotta hope that Bears can somehow slow him down, and Cutler shows up to play next week.

I think that total passing defense (passing yards per game) is a terrible way to measure defensive effectiveness. After all, teams that build early leads will get passed on more. If I'm reading the stats right, the Bears are number three in opponents' passer rating. Number one? Green Bay.

I wasn't alive for some of the big ones from the mid-80's and prior, but yeah... this is definitely the most hype I've ever seen for any Chicago sporting event.

they were down 21 pretty quickly, they weren't exactly going to run the ball to get back into the game.

 

I'll give a slight edge to the Packers going into next week, but anyone who thinks the Bears have zero chance are off base IMO. To me you can't underestimate the effort the Bears D put up in week 17 against a Packers team who had to win to get in, of course there were drops and such, but that happens in football games. Both teams will have to play in some elements next week on a horrible field, the Pack's offense won't be indoors on an immaculate playing surface against an overrated D.

 

Really looking forward to it, should be a great build up and a lot of fun.

 

 

And yes, screw the Pats and ESPN, I'm not the biggest Jets fan in the world, but that was awesome. They got on a great streak and rolled with momentum for the last bunch of weeks of the regular season, but they had obvious defensive flaws that were flat out ignored in the dick sucking that goes on over the Pats, I thought next week Pitt would be the one to expose them, but they were so bad Sanchez was able to do it.

Yeah, don't think I could have been more wrong had I tried.

 

Not that he was any good for the Vikings or the Titans, but the Patriots really missed having a legitimate deep threat in this game. The only time I think I saw Brady try something really deep was to Brandon Tate. They simply weren't able to stretch the Jets' coverage, and that stopped the Patriots running and short passing game.

If this week taught anybody anything it's that you should just throw the regular season games out the window, they mean nothing at this point.
