Wont be long before he's in the Hall with a Sox cap on.

I know he was already basically retired but this still makes me sad.

Bye bye Frank. Thanks for everything. Dude seriously might be the most underrated player of all time. :notworthy :notworthy

Lucky for us he never played east of the Hudson, for the Cubs, or for a team in LA, where he'd have been (justifiably) hyped to no end.

This man is the reason I call the White Sox my favorite baseball team. In his prime, watching him was no different than watching MJ (for me anyway).

The Sox NEED to retire 35 at some point this season

Thank you, Frank, for being the premier "stop and watch" player in all of baseball in the early 90's.

Thank you, Frank, for the boost you provided to the Sox in the middle of 2005.

Thank you, Frank, for being so vocal against PED's when no one else was.

Enjoy your induction into the Hall Of Fame!

Good Ol' #35

Opening Day would work for me.

I've cried myself to sleep every night since he left the Sox, on December 7, 2005. :crying

That ALWAYS meant bad news for opposing pitchers!

Frank was the biggest reason I became a Sox fan as a young child, and I'm sure quite a few other posters here would express similar thoughts. The best player in Sox history, by a large margin. Get the hall of fame bust ready, get the statue ready, get the number retirement ceremony ready, etc etc. It's a sad day today, even though we've known he's really been retired for a long time now.

Statue.

Frank standing there, bouncing bat on shoulder, staring at pitcher.

Now.

I second this.

I hope Big Hurt is around alot in the future years to come.

My first baseball memory was me being 2 years old, sitting near home plate at my first Sox game, and Frank launching one out of the park.

For years, I swore it went out of the whole park.

I think part of me always wished Frank would come back last year or this and suddenly become Big Hurt again. That would have been amazing.

Three years to Cooperstown big guy, and the Sox better retire #35 and put a statue out there opening day.

Edit: Frank was only an All-Star 5 times? That's a shame.
