Change his game...like say, having 2 of the other best players in the NBA make sure that he never has to take a hard hit again?

how are they going to stop that? If he drives he will get hit

    I feel like this has probably been posted somewhere, but I haven't seen it. If it has, my bad.     http://www.nba.com/cavaliers/news/gilbert_letter_100708.html   Not sure how everyone else

I couldn't disagree more. You see guys like Rondo and Rose who are perfecting the tear-drop in the lane. You have someone like Durant who has amazing offensive ability. I swear I've heard that "the entire culture has changed" for the last 2 decades.

You could make a case that the talent level is as high as its ever been. And people really need to watch all different teams play because there are tons of different styles of play in the NBA. Sure you have teams like Cleveland that do a ton of isolation but you also have teams like Phoenix and Utah that run incredibly efficient offenses with a ton of ball movements. The Lakers are running the same stuff the Bulls did when they won their championships.

I say this with all respect to Wade, I think he is a great and dynamic player, but IMO and others opinions he is either going to have to change his game in 3-4 years or he will fall off the table quickly

I don't think so. He'll be able to coast for weeks at a time without the team missing a beat. 38 MPG will be totally different than 38 MPG three years ago.

QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 10:03 PM)
is he on ESPN? ESPN is going to spin this anyway they can, they have a huge contract with the NBA and need this to work out

Yeah, he and Van Gundy were just interviewed by Van Pelt.

Jackson clearly has still not gotten over getting his butt whipped by Jordan and Co: throughout the entire 90's.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 09:00 PM)
What we found out is Lebron isnt Jay-Z, he isnt Kobe, isnt Shaq, he isnt Magic or Bird. Hell hes not even Isaih.

Hes Kevin Garnett.

How quickly the mighty fall.

Ive been throwing that analogy around a lot lately also. However, give KG a little more credit. He rode it out in Minny as long as he could and tried everything to win there until he was traded. He didnt form his big three until he had been in the league for like 12 years.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 10:00 PM)
NBA is reeling because you just dont see 3 players who are supposedly great decide that they cant win on their own.

For all the s*** Kobe takes, no way does he go to Miami to be Wade's b****. You gotta respect Kobe for that.

Kobe was doing everything he could to get out of town after Shaq left because his supporting cast wasn't good enough for him to win a title. Maybe he doesn't go play with Wade but if they hadn't improved their roster he would have left.

So I was looking to see who the Bulls could add to the SG spot next season, and I found out that the league is really short of good shooting guards at the moment. After Wade, Kobe, Roy, Johnson and maybe Manu who you can call perennial all stars, the list of consistent performers are short and weak. Here are the top 10 players in PER last season.

There are only 19 players who registered 15.00 or better PER last season, which is the placement of an average player, that is the lowest since the establishment of PER in 2002. and number 6 Beaubois is really a point guard who plays 12 minutes a game.

1 Dwyane Wade, MIA 77 36.3 .562 19.5 9.8 33.2 4.5 11.1 7.9 28.10 733.4 24.4

2 Manu Ginobili, SAS 75 28.7 .584 23.4 9.7 25.2 3.8 11.6 7.7 22.54 386.5 12.9

3 Kobe Bryant, LAL 73 38.8 .545 15.2 9.7 30.5 3.1 12.2 7.7 21.95 484.3 16.1

4 Brandon Roy, POR 65 37.2 .568 18.3 7.7 25.5 3.7 10.9 7.3 21.36 392.2 13.1

5 Joe Johnson, ATL 76 38.0 .538 18.3 7.2 25.3 3.0 11.4 7.1 19.33 380.1 12.7

6 Beaubois, DAL 56 12.5 .617 16.4 12.0 23.0 2.0 10.7 6.4 18.59 81.4 2.7

7 Jamal Crawford, ATL 79 31.1 .573 14.7 8.5 24.4 1.6 8.0 4.8 18.50 282.8 9.4

8 Andre Iguodala, PHI 82 38.9 .535 23.6 10.9 21.4 3.0 16.8 9.8 17.82 348.8 11.6

9 Marcus Thornton, 73 25.6 .550 9.9 6.6 23.0 4.4 8.9 6.6 17.50 187.3 6.2

10 Vince Carter, ORL 75 30.8 .541 15.8 7.1 23.3 1.7 12.6 7.3 17.11 227.9 7.6

A lot of people on this list are closing in on 30 years old if not over, so we are witnessing the decline of this position the downfall of former all stars T-mac, iverson, Allen, Carter, Michael Redd, Finley, and Stackhouse without any young and prominent shooting guard coming into the league.

the death of the midrange game, the post game, the lack of good power forwards and shooting guards. Just another reason why the NBA is no longer what it used to be.

Bulls should trade fordre Andre Iguodala, Antawn Jameson, Rashard Lewis, or Jason Richardson.

Edited by Steve9347

Anyone listening to the Score? Goff is pissed. I've never heard him more angry.

Richardson would be the best fit of those 3

he has to be healthy through the playoffs though, someone like Dwight Howard isn't going to escort him to the ground softly because LBJ and Bosh are on the floor

No to the first two. Maybe to the last one.

Honestly, I think that was Kobe's way of putting the fear of god into the front office to make some moves. I don't think he was ever going to leave.

Yes, ok we know Lebron is going to Miami.... so what are in the Bulls plans now?

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 11:08 PM)

He's going after Lebron and ESPN. He's talking about how this entire thing was a farce, pretty much ground that we've covered.

Jamison and Boozer on the same team? Wow the Bulls would be awful defensively.

An SG, a backup SG and some defensive-minded wing players.

They also have three power forwards and no perimeter shooting.

Well duh, Im talking about players not positions.

i think I'm being a little misunderstood in this thread because I'm being too choppy with my posts...

I think the three of these guys together is dynamite and has a chance to win titles, however, I don't think it's going to be a rampaging team that is going to tear through the NBA for the next 5 years.

Also, I haven't really thought what I think about how this effects Lebrons "Legacy" I'm just pointing out that there is a perception out there that he's taking an easy way out and I think that's going to stick with him.

Kobe considered going to the bulls.

Kobe was not talking about going to team up with 2 other great players.

Its a pretty big difference.

If Lebron went to NYK or Nets, id still really respect him.

there's nothing really major left out there, I imagine they would still try and shop Deng to see if they can get something for him.

that, plus three douchebags getting together before free agency starts to decide that they are playing together next season, that really killed the league and it's becoming a joke more and more
