December 12, 201114 yr Author Unless the league saw the offer, thought “what are they thinking!?!” because the league wants to see the Clippers do well, too, so they countered so the Clippers could keep Gordon? Then we have a whole new bag of problems.
December 12, 201114 yr Author This is all so strange. The Clippers offer the deal with Eric Gordon, and the league rejects, asking for Eric Bledsoe. This is even more fishy than one would have imagined. Apparently, the league is a-ok with a monster team being built as long as they haven't been monsters before... December 12, 201114 yr Author Say what we will about wanting D12, but the Bulls really have a great core of players already. I highly recommend reading this column from Sam Smith, which near the end details how hard the players on the team have been working. http://blogs.bulls.com/2011/12/so-who-need...-not-the-bulls/
December 12, 201114 yr Now they're saying Gordon is back on it and they submitted the report.. weird. If the Hornets get Gordon, that is a great trade for them. EDIT: Wojnarowski is stating that Gordon is included in the deal and Broussard is stating that he isn't. We'll see very soon. Edited December 12, 201114 yr by SoxAce
December 12, 201114 yr QUOTE (SoxAce @ Dec 12, 2011 -> 03:26 AM) Wow... CP3 going to the Clippers. Deal is close. Eric Gordon isn't involved like in an earlier report(s). T-Wolves unprotected pick also going to Clippers. What a steal if it happens. CP3-Gordon-Blake (I'll also shoutout DeAndre Jordan) Unreal. Way better package than the Lakers deal

December 12, 201114 yr QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 12, 2011 -> 12:09 PM) Yeah, they've had it since like 2005. I see. Well then it's not nearly a slam dunk as just going with Gordon. I like Gordon. But next summer's draft is deep. And the Wolves figure to suck again.
December 12, 201114 yr Steve, This is exactly what the Hornets should have been doing, trying to squeeze every ounce out of teams that want to trade. At the end of the day the Hornets can always say, okay we will take only 1 of the 2, but why not hold out for both as long as you can?
December 12, 201114 yr QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 12, 2011 -> 08:29 AM) GM Gar Forman said that the Bulls are working with Derrick Rose's agents to finalize a five-year, $94 million extension. This is a formality, as the team has has already called it a "top priority" to accomplish. Rose has already stated that he has no interest in signing elsewhere, and this should be done rather quickly. Similarly to Kevin Durant, Rose has no interest in wasting the team's time in contract talks and wants to remain with the club long-term. Love this kid. Love is the perfect word. Great kid.

If they don't get a deal done with the Clippers, given it's a great trade for them no matter which version/package they get back, then we have a problem.

Either way, they can't lose, so the NBA really, really needs to get this deal done.
December 12, 201114 yr I guess after watching the rest of the NBA rape the Clippers for years, Stern wanted a piece of the action. Supposedly Hornets were holding out for Gordon, Minnesota 1st round, Bledsoe, Kaman and Aminu.

December 12, 201114 yr OK, wtf? That Hornets/Clippers deal was legit. Eric Bledsoe? This fell apart because of Eric Bledsoe? I guess any package that doesn't include Kevin Durant is not going to suffice.

December 12, 201114 yr QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 12, 2011 -> 02:07 PM) Stern has screwed the Hornets. So they would've received Gordon and the pick, correct? I'm asking because I thought that's what I heard on the radio just now.
December 12, 201114 yr WTF is wrong with Stern? Seriously? Maybe my whole "he's screwing the team over to fold them" theory is right.

The way it's worded in the ESPN report on it is that the sticking point is that they're demanding both Gordon and the pick, not Bledsoe. They make it sound like the Clippers are offering Bledsoe, Aminu, Kaman and either the pick or Gordon.
