Chances aren't very good for Heilman or LaRoche trades, either, source says.

Balta, a claim on waivers is a trade. You still agree to conditions, just as in a trade. The only difference is that if you claim a player on waivers, you would assume the remaining money left on that contract. It does not stand to reason, however, that you would assume money owed from previous years of employment with another team. That's a huge leap you're making.

If indeed you are correct, that the claim would expose the White Sox to $26.5 (of the total $45 million) million in liability from the contract Manny signed with the Dodgers in 09'.

And again, if that is the case, then no one will claim him on waivers, and so it's simply a moot point.

The phrase I'm reading is that the team putting the waiver claim on them "assumes the balance of the contract". I think it's the $26.5 million, if that's what's still on there.

I think you're on crack, but hey, my guess is we'll find out soon enough.

OFFTOPIC: Sanchez seen huggin teammates in the Giant dugout

It's awful quiet on the Sox front. Kenny is about to strike. Just wait.

Dunn to giants?

Watch the Giants got Dunn for Sanchez plus. Either him or it's Bautista.

Dunn to giants?

Sounds more like Bautista.

The rest of the NL should be VERY afraid if that happens.

good, i've soured on dunn anyways

as i say this, watch us land dunn

We'll find out soon but Heyman is saying Hart or Bautista .

6 minutes please don't let me down Kenny

Any one of Dunn, Hart or Bautista makes the Giants the NL favorite, IMO.

6 minutes

Harold Reynolds is a f***ing idiot.

I'll be pretty disappointed if our only move this deadline was Hudson and Holmberg for Jackson, a move a lot of us don't even like.

Nothing gonna happen, I would love for the MLB The Club Show to show the uncensored KW talks about Mike Rizzo.

Don't forget waivers till August 30th.

I feel a big old sigh coming on.

Watch Jerry OK a waiver claim on Manny

Won't happen. KW didn't let them record it apparently.

Which should make all those who want so badly to keep Dayan around happy because he really can't be traded after today unless it's to the Orioles same goes for Santos, Torres, Flowers and probably Nunez.

White Sox say there are done at deadline. No more deals at least not until players clear waivers Nightendale

What a tremendously disappointing moment.
